All I can say is that the best way to see Top of the Rock is with a Sun and Stars ticket. This allows you 2 trips to the top within 24 hours. You get to see 1 city looking amazing and totally different with doing this. Try to make sure you have a clear day and a clear night... More

Visited this attraction in the evening, which I would highly recommend over the day as you get to see the city skyline all sparkled up and it's also more romantic! You get amazing views from the Observation deck which you will see views of a lifetime. Friendly staff and lifts to the top are very quick too. Will definitely be... More

Went there around Aug 2015. Was so surprised that during the day weather was perfect. Sunny but not too hot either but once we got to the top around 7pm..gosh it was so cold. Very windy but I didnt mind as i was too busy enjoyng the view and taking photos as well. Really love New York!

If you want a view of the Empire State Building then this is the one you want to choose. If you buy a "sun and stars" ticket you can go back to see the same view with the city lights.

We pre booked tickets for 10.30am on a Friday. There was no queue for tickets or for pre booked when we arrived. Staff throughout were friendly. There is a security check which is expected. There is an optional photo opportunity which is fun to partake in but you dont have to buy the photos. The lift is about 43 seconds... More

Wow! l would suggest getting tickets the day before for your time slot but don't bother turning up early as they don't let you in. The views are amazing and well worth all the queuing.

We were fortunate to have a beautiful clear sunny day to witness a breathtaking view over New York. The elevator ride to get up there is an experience in itself but when you walk out onto the observation deck its incredible. You have 360 degree views over the City with unobstructed views. As we were there in January there were... More

Well worth a visit! Everyone says Empire by day Rockefeller by night and I agree. Also visit the Rainbow Room on flow 65 for cocktails on the outside terrace.

To my opinion much better than Empire State - amazing views on Central Park, Downtown/Empire State, Hudson River etc. I particularly like the concept of time slots on the tickets making sure the platform is not overcrowded. Good choice for a sunny day.

Everyone goes to ny and understandably wants to go up the Empire State. However when you're up there taking photos what is missing ???? The Empire State Building! Go up the Rock as the views are even better as they include stunning views of NY with the Empire State in all its glory. You also get great views over Central... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
