We visited the NYYC on Friday as guests of a friend who could not make it. We had a wonderful time. The place is steeped in history and lasting beauty. The major room is the 5000 sq ft model room with many ships models form past races, carved paneling, and window nooks shaped like dutch ship sterns (it is a... More

We were guests of a member of the New York Yacht Club in NYC in October of 2016. The Yacht club was a short cab ride from PENN Station. You could walk to the club in the day time and with a small rolling bag. Our room was small with prints of old yachts on the wall. The bed comfortable... More

Had a wonderful stay at the NYYC in late September. Fantastic location on 44th between 5th and 6th streets. It's a members only club but my girlfriend was able to book due to reciprocity with her sailing club. We stayed on the 7th floor. The rooms weren't very large however the price/value was great as a continental breakfast was included.... More

The entire facility is nothing short of spectacular. The artwork is world class as is the architecture and service. The experience is old world comparable to the Bellevue Avenue era. The model room is filled with showcases filled with handmade yacht models of America Cups winners, incredible.

Very nice architecture and interesting history, The food is excellent. And if you happen to go don't forget to go and have a look at the library. You need a member to get an entry otherwise you not allowed. And the men's restroom reads as 'relief' and not mens. Also cameras are not allowed and only formals.

The NYYC is without doubt the most elegant club in the city. Steeped in history, it has a fantastic model room and an extensive nautical book collection and a large yet cosy reading room. The dining is excellent and service impeccable. Jacket is required for lunch and dinner and at the bar. Jeans are not acceptable.

This is a beautiful club, very elegant and the dining reflected that. Beautiful food, excellent service and the tour of the trophy room was amazing. You need to be a member, with a member, or have an invitation from an affiliated club to get in but well worth a visit if you can organise it. Fabulous night out in NYC.

I was there for a business dinner last night (not my first time) and had the tuna tartare as starter and red snapper for main course which were both excellent and the Chilean wine was beautiful. The waiter however was awful, rude and no manners whatsoever, not what you would expect in such a coat and tie only restaurant. Quite... More

After a long day in the saddle, cycling, we were desparate for a drink and some nutrition and ended up on the Crows Nest, on the roof of the NYC Yacht Club and had some easy food and wine/beer and a beautiful view of NYC

The food and the service are what you would expect from a top NYC restaurant. The prices seem reasonable compared to NYC prices. I went with NYYC members so I am not sure if membership is required. The house wine are pretty good as well.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
