Nice for a stroll and to escape the crowds. Visited on Christmas and found it beautiful but really can't wait to go again on spring or summer.

There is much to explore in Central Park, and this is a unique area that is hilly and wooded with multiple different paths that allow you to get lost a bit as you stroll through. Less crowded than other areas. Nice views of The Lake from an elevated position. I walked through here after visiting the Bethesda Fountain taking the long way around The Lake over to the Bow Bridge.

The Ramble is a bit wilder and less kept area of Central Park. It’s a wonderful piece of nature and the life on the water and in the brambles is amazing.

On our mostly full day in Central Park this March, using my Google maps app, my wife and I took a walk through the Ramble. It's quite a beautiful and serene woodland area right smack dab in the middle of Central Park.

On our way, we experienced a sense of calm, getting somewhat lost and enjoying magnificent views of Central Park Lake and the Ramble Arch. Apparently, there are a number of arches in the park and we were lucky to view one of them here.

You definitely want to explore this area. You can find a nice map on the Central Park website. We never felt unsafe and glad we did it.

Nice more natural garden in Central Park. Easy to navigate and lots of wild flower’s. It’s a good area for a peaceful stroll.

I walked through The Ramble in January 2022 during a very long walk in Central Park. I found it to be a very peaceful place and I felt like I was walking in a forest. I walked from Belvedere Castle in to The Ramble and then on to Bow Bridge. I had a map of Central Park which helped me take the right paths.

It was a warm all day and we wanted to go on a hike in the woods away from the crowds. The Ramble in Central Park did the trick. It has both paved and I paved walking trails close to popular attractions like the Bow Bridge or Shakespeare in the Park but a world away in terms of crowds. On the map, the Ramble is really a series of trails that essentially intersect with each other every few minutes. So if you randomly take a right or a left at each intersection, you could wander around in circles for hours. The paths are narrow so would be problematic if busy but it wasn’t too bad compared to the other parts of Central Park.

Getting to the Ramble was easy. We could either enter from the bottom via Bow Bridge or from the North via the Shakespeare Gardens and the Traverse. We took the C train to 72nd Street, walked through Strawberry Field, crossed the Bow Bridge and took one of the pathways to the Ramble.

There’s a bathroom at the Shed on the north end of the ramble but it seemed to be popular with a few of the homeless - so that was the only negative. But there does not seem to be a homeless issue with tents set up - just a couple of disheveled people using a public bathrooms. Lots of bathrooms towards the 79th St Traverse.

All in all, the Ramble was a very easy, scenic and green way to get away from the business and concrete of the other parts of the city.

The Ramble of n Central Park has a lot of small walking trails. You can get in there and not see anyone even on busy days. Yet you are not far from other parts of the park.

Easy to find but you might get lost upon the trees and pathways. We had a stroller and the major paved paths are great, some up and down hills but easy to access. There are off track paths with woodchips and dirt, some rocks to climb up on and a little creek to rest your feet at. We got lost but found our way out eventually, there is also a regularly cleaned toilet at the north hill of the rambles. Nice little hike if you're looking to escape the loud city, but there are plenty of squirrels to keep you company.

While wandering around Central Park, we headed towards the ramble, a rather large forest area with benches, a stream, much green and nice views on the Lake.
I am Swiss so woods are not difficult for me to come by, but I suppose if you are a new Yorker this is a great area where you can enjoy fresher air, have a picnic or simply have a stroll.
