We went to see The NYCB's production of The Nutcracker as we wanted to enjoy a genuine NYC Christmas tradition. Despite the fact that the only available seats that didn't cost more than a small home deposit were in the fourth tier, we weren't put off, as we'd read that seats in the gods were good for appreciating the action... Ballet may not be everyone's choice for theatre, but the NYC Ballet is a great place to start, in large part because the building itself has so many great sight lines available, with the balconies considered better than orchestra seating. We took in "The Nutcracker," which was beautifully executed, although the first act was long and rather dull. Amazingly, the... More

Took the kids to see the nutcracker on a Monday night in NYC. We sat in 2nd ring left. Row A seats 9-15. Great view especially with younger children as no one in front. It was our first ballet and quite a gentle one. The first Act is slow to begin with but it really builds up. Second act is... More

We opted for the ballet instead of a Broadway show on this trip. The Nutcracker story is what it is (first half was a little slow to me), but the dancing was magnificent! NYCB did a beautiful job. We were in the first row of the third ring at about center - excellent seats. Note: you can't take drinks (that... More

Photography NOT allowed. One 25 minute intermission. Coat check available ($2 per garment). First NYCB and Nutcracker performance. I was pretty impressed. Get the good seats if you can afford them. The Orchestra was great and so were the performances of the younger members.

We had witnessed Nutcracker show for the first time today. Truly amazing ballet perfomances. Dancers from various age categories were performing and everybody where thoroughly professional. we were seated in orch level on U rows, view was little bit hindered but for the cost we paid, it was the best we could get. Play was for about two hours. Act... More

The New York ballet was beautifully done. Everyone was dressed up. The orchestra was lovely and the ballerinas blew my mind. The agility and leg strength they have is just unbelievable!

We loved this show! First time to see it in NYC and the cast from young to older were spellbinding. We chose a matinee and it was filled with grandparents taking their grandchildren to the performance. Mom's and dad's, too. The children attending were dressed in sparkles and tutu's and velvet. Great to watch. The show was festive and gorgeous... More
