We use this instead of traveling and paying for the Lincoln Tunnel and very expense NYC parking. Returning in the evening gives you a nice view of the city lights. Customer service is very good.

NY waterway ferries never run on time and the routes are always changing without prior notice. A commute that's supposed to take 15 minutes (WFC to Hoboken North), often takes twice as long because of the other stops that they decide to take seemingly randomly....More

What a great way to get into NYC without driving. We took the ferry from Hoboken and it brought us to 39th Street in NYC. The ferry runs constantly, so not a long wait. Once on board it is a short trip across the Hudson...More

Our family was staying in NJ and had a rental car. We knew we did not want to drive in NYC. We left our car in the parking garage at Port Imperial (overnight) and took the ferry across the Hudson. Parking and the ferry were...More

We used NY Waterways from the Belford NJ terminal to NYC Midtown (39th Street) terminal. The total trip is about 1 hour and the senior cost is $17.50, a $4 discount. They have a shuttle bus that drops you at various places ... we took...More

We found those who served us were rude and disinterested in helping people. There was a huge line for tickets and then an even longer line to board the boat. The attendant was impatient and impolite, rolling her eyes at questions from confused customers. A...More

NY Waterway: an abject service nightmare. Since deploying a downsized boat to service the line to Port Imperial at reduced fuel cost, they now routinely (i.e. multiple times weekly) strand 20-40 passengers at World Financial Center station. Passengers now often wait 45 minutes for a...More

Stayed in Jersey City and thought it would be nice to take a ferry to Manhattan rather than the Path train every time. No doubt this ferry is set up suitably for commuters but it was challenging for visitors. The website route maps are not...More

The ferry to Rockaway leaves from Pier 11 every hour. It's about an hour's ride on pretty choppy seas once in the middle of the harbour. Along the way is a view of the New York Skyline, the Statue of Liberty and a couple of...More

I know when I arrive at the 39th St terminal they have buses to 44th/57th, Mid Town and the financial area. Therefore, I don't think it matters much, but there is also a very terminal in the World Financial area, which is... More
