The Opera was wonderful!! The only thing you may want to pay attention to is your choice of times to go. If you have kids and want to go, hit the matinee. We went on Thursday at 2 and it was full of kids from area schools. The kids were respectful and did not disturb the performance.

My wife and I recently attended the amazing "phantom " and it truly lived to it's reputation , top class by a very talented cast. We found the theatre to be quiet charming in its old style decor , if we had a tiny quibble-it was the fact that 2 diet cokes was $20 , however that aside we had... More

We went to see The Phantom of the Opera. Our seats were in Orchestra on the left side on the aisle next to the center. The sound is great and the theater is arranged so you will have a good view from everywhere (unless the person in front of you decides to wear a tall hairstyle to the theater!!) Very... More

The building looks very grand, but when sitting down the leg room is tiny. Very long queues for the ladies, but OK for the gents. Saw Phantom of the Opera which was very good and although was on (with interval) for about 2 1/2 hours passed very quickly. Performances were very good as were the acoustics and stage set.

This was the highlight of our last night in NYC. This was our first Broadway show and you can tell why this show has staying power. The theatre is rich in history. Seats are tight, but not too bad, as you can stretch your legs during intermission. My wife enjoyed the show so much as she had a big smile... More

Classic 1929 theatre will heighten your experience of any production. My wife and I came to the arch the phantom and the theatre enrich the whole adventure. However note. Restrooms are located downstairs and long lineups before you get settled. And not always friendly service. Don't let that discourage you. Just remember why you are here and frame it that... More

We have seen Phantom of the Opera around 5 times in different locations. Overall I think this topped them all for atmosphere in the Theatre and quality of the performance. Excellent

** Have equipment for people with hearing disability (which is me) ** Went there for an afternoon presentation of The Phantom of the Opera. The good: Like said above, they have equipment for people with hearing disability, which helped improve my experience a lot! Theatre has an old classic/historical look which makes it charming. They have a place to put... More

If you haven't seen Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, you're missing out. I highly recommend seeing it. The theatre in and of itself is worth the trip -- it's very charming.

I so love the theatre! I was deeply disappointed to the fact that instead of a live orchestra there was DIGITAL MUSIC!!! It cheapens the production so much it makes you wonder if the performers are lip singing!!! I know the singers work so hard to put on a quality production, what is happening to Broadway!!!!!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
