"Waitress" a major hit with teenage daughter and myself

This theater was simply great - small enough that I don't think any seat would be bad. The show was incredible- mature themes - my 16 year old said she felt "every emotion"!

My girlfriend and I enjoyed seeing the Waitress last week. The theatre was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. The cast did an amazing job, storyline not my fav but the sheer talent to perform live is outstanding.

Jessie Mueller gives a wonderful performance in Broadway's Waitress. This is a must see when you find yourself in New York.

Good show. Excellent singing and performances by all of the actors. Songs are all unknown and a little odd. Enjoyed the show but it is has its highlights and slow times. At the end of the show Adrienne Shelly's (the writer of the 2007 film WAITRESS) husband Andy spoke about his departed wife. An enclosed flyer said that performance was... More

Went here in December to see Deaf West's performance of Spring Awakening. We throughly enjoyed the show and loved the theatre. Although it is smaller than my local theatre, the Fulton Opera House, it was still very well done. They had a place to buy merchandise and a bar on the second floor and allowed you to take drinks to... More

I've been to the Brooks Atkinson several times over the years, most recently to see Waitress in preview. The play was excellent. The theatre is average in seat size, a little on the small side, but the view from our seats was good even though we were at the far end of the aisle. The one thing I found very... More

This review is to provide potential theater-goers seating comparisons for the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, complete with pictures! I saw the Spring Awakening revival here twice, once in Front Orchestra Right (row C) and the second time in Rear Mezzanine Left (row G). This theater being on the smaller side, the view from rear mezzanine was great. It was an excellent... More

Saw Spring Awakening here and the show was pronominal! The Cast was terrific, the band was inspiring, and the theatre has a great charm and look to it. The Box office was friendly and nice. The only thing that took my review down to average is the Ushers. They were awful. One usher, a young dark haired woman and working... More

The theater is a wonderful place to watch a play or musical. Spring Awakening is not for everyone, the couple next to us left at intermission and from their body language they appeared to be offended. A lot of the actors are deaf so at times there are two actors performing the same role on stage at the same time.... More

This production by the acclaimed Deaf West company completely re-imagines this 2007 Tony-winning Best Musical. Featuring a cast of both hearing and deaf actors, the entire show is both fully-sung and fully signed or otherwise interpreted. The roles played by deaf actors have "voices," who appear on stage and sing and supply dialogue from the shadows. The effect is mesmerizing.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
