Saw Water for Elephants and it was enchanting. Sound system was perfectly balanced for all the voices and music. A great musical in a great setting.

We saw the Great Comet of 1812 here some years back and found it to be a great theater providing an excellent New York Broadway experience. Just like most New York theaters, seats are a bit cramped but also not a bad seat in the house for views of the stage. Order your drinks for intermission before the show to avoid standing in line.

Recently visited the Imperial theatre to see Water for Elephants, a fantastic show that was spoiled by horrible theatre staff.
I’m not sure why Broadway theatres are obsessed with having people queuing down the street and then hurling abuse at patrons to get you to a seat quickly, just open the doors a little earlier!
I was attending with an elderly friend with mobility issues and getting in was so stressful that I just wanted to leave.
Finally at our seat and enjoying the first half of the show I headed to the men’s room in the interval to have the same experience, I’m a grown man, I don’t need hitler barking orders at me as I queue for the toilet.
Great show - horrible theatre experience!!

This has nothing to do with the show (Water for Elephants) but rather with the treatment of the patrons by the staff. Insanely long slow moving line (in the rain) with staff yelling conflicting instructions in an abusive and condescending tone. While we were excited to see the show by the time we rushed into our seats we were a bit soured on the whole experience.

What happened to this place? It was a packed Saturday night, and we waited out in the rain until almost show time to get in because the line was so long. Once we did get past the ticket takers, everyone was packed like sardines into a smaller hallway to creep into the venue. Then it was a mad rush for everyone to get to their seats before the show began. Seats were cramped, my friend next to me was half in my seat with his legs because there was old school 1920s legroom in this theater. Then an intermission, forget about it. Long long lines for the few stalls in the mens bathroom. Women's room somehow was faster for them. Got back to my seat 1 minute before intermission ended. They just don't have the facilities for a full house at this theater.

This was a great musical and I would see it again! A Great Noise is one of the best shows We have seen in a very long time. The actor who plays Neil Diamond was a sensation.

Visited here with our 2 teens to watch "Bad Cinderella" the show itself was pretty good. We did enjoy it.

The seating is pretty small if you are a tall person you'll struggle with leg room unfortunately.

The Imperial Theater is a major broadway theater located in Midtown Manhattan.

Designed by theater architect, Herbert J. Krapp and opened in 1923, the Imperial Theater has hosted various successful theatrical performances ranging from Dreamgirls, Fiddler On The Roof and Les Miserable.

In November of 2021, I brought and treated my wife and myself to see sensational Broadway hit, “Ain’t Too Proud:The Life & Times Of The Temptations” at the Imperial Theater.

Ain’t Too Proud is the most successful Broadway musical to be showcased at the Imperial Theater and after seeing the show, there’s no doubt as to the reasons why.

The performance of the Ain’t Too Proud cast was absolutely amazing and they each excelled in all three areas that are included in a musical; acting, dancing and singing!!!

The chemistry shared between the cast members was superb and spot on, and the performers sang as beautifully and effortlessly as the real Temptations. The dance moves performed by the actors particularly the actors who played Otis Williams & David Ruffin was simply magnificent!!!

Aside from the performance, the Imperial theater provided comfortable seating and its interior decoration is a gorgeous sight to behold.

Both my wife and were blessed to see a wonderful musical at a wonderful theater!!!

Show was outstanding but the staff was rude, pushy and unprofessional. We were sent to the wrong seats and saw it happen to several other people. And then the staff was rude when we asked for help finding the correct seats. Staff did a lot of yelling of instructions, especially when it was time to leave. Just took a little something from the good time. There are A LOT of stairs. If you’re a person with a physical disability, spring for seats in the first floor. Also, the seats are tight with very little leg room. If you’re over 6 feet tall, purchase an aisle seat.

Rude and disorganized staff. I was attempting to purchase tickets for the matinee one hour before start of show. Staff on the street said sure, show your vax/ID and go in to the box office. But staff at the door rudely turned me away, refusing me entrance. There was no reason to do this - I had vax proof and photo ID and simply wanted to buy the tickets and then return to the line of ticket holders. The refusal to let me enter was mindless authoritarianism, bad manners, and bad business. It worked out - we walked across the street, bought tickets to COMPANY at the Jacobs, were warmly welcomed and loved the show. Avoid the imperious Imperial!
