Loved the stage door experience. Overall I love Broadway and would recommend to others.Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 10 February 2024

- Fearless828011San Antonio, Texas10 contributionsTicket Counter guy is the MAN!I just have to give a BIG Texas thank you to the gentleman at the ticket counter on July 11th! We had tickets for 1pm and I had it in my head it was at 2. We got there late and he did a miracle for us to be able to see it that night in a similar section! My mother would have been out so much money and he was so kind and only gave me a little bit of a hard time, haha. LOVED the show (we saw MJ), the theater was very nice with bathroom attendant and all. It was a highlight of our trip that we could have easily missed!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 July 2024

Visited this theatre to see MJ (The Michael Jackson musical). Aramie Payton who played MJ was brilliant in song and dance. Theatre was quite cramped as most are but the toilets just can't cope with the volume of people, men's and womens both. Great long queues making it nigh on impossible to get any where near the bar. We couldn't so didn't buy drinks. Very poor. Music of MJ was very good though the backing bad was too loud.

Tip: Deal directly with the box office to purchase tickets.
The box office clerk was wonderful. She offered me a great ticket option (orchestra center, row C, seat 112). The leg room was great and I experienced MJ as I could never have imagined. It was nice being up front, seeing the action on stage and feeling the rhythm of the music.

I haven't even gone to the show yet and I'm disappointed. I'm a photographer and aN adult that can follow rules. I can't bring my camera to the city because it's not allowed in the NS theater? UNBELIVABLE!! If you say I cant take photos during the show I can apply to this . Im taking the train into the city so no way around this. You know people with phone cameras will absolutely be sneaking videos and photos. Total BS

The staff was friendly, organized and was able to get the people off the streets and into the theatre and in the right direction for seating in a timely manner. The theatre was nice and clean and had great aisle staff that was very helpful and friendly. The show itself was phenomenal!! The only con was the bathroom situation, but that is to be expected.

We actually just planned on seeing Wicked at the Gerschwin, but were able to get last minute tickets to see MJ at the Neil Simon theater. The theater, itself, is a lovely old building with a domed roof and a beauriful crystal chandelier.
The understudy playing MJ (Jamaal Fields-Green) brought the role to life. His dancing, singing, and acting of this role were phenomenal. Go see this play....it is so worth your time.

The theater is a few blocks out from the other theaters but still close to Times Square. The theater ceiling is beautiful and the staff was nice. The show was FANTASTIC and I mean, go see it twice good. Make sure you check it out

Shoes and shirt. Some dress up. Some were in jeans and t shirts. I am sure that as long as you have clean clothes on, no one will care.

The theatre is on 52 St. and Broadway. Your best bet is to walk to 46 St. and 9th Ave. You have Cara Mia--a very moderate, very good Italian restaurant at 654 9th Ave, New York, NY 10036. If you prefer Asian food, go to Jing between 47 and 48 St. on 9th Ave. at 689 9th Ave. Once you go to 9th Ave. you get good food at moderate prices for Midtown Manhattan.

We are staying at the Millenium Hotel. Has anyone walked to Neil Simon from there. Trying to find a website that gives walking directions.

Hello visitor to NY! Greetings and hope you will enjoy your stay. The Millennium Hilton is located at One UN Plaza which is on the East side of Manhattan while the Neil Simon Theatre is in the theatre district in Mid Manhattan towards the West side. It's nice quiet area where your hotel is compared to the hustle bustle of hotels in the theatre district. My best advice for you is to call cab service to and from your destinations whether you add in dining. Plenty of those options quite walkable when you are by the theatre. I recommend a quaint bistro called TOUT VA BIEN. It's a tasty French Bistro with delicious food and most of all great prices for the area. Service is friendly(a huge plus) and you'll make great memories. Look them up on OpenTable and make your reservations. Very close to the Neil Simon Theatre. Go before or after the show. I like afterwards so I don't have to hold food in my gut and fight fatigue even if it's an exciting Cher Show:-)haha By car service from Hotel to theatre is about 15minutes, by walking yourself is a good 1/2hour(oh how I wish I was young again)and if you are dressed up...just take car service, you'll thank me for that. Hope this info helps...enjoy!

I want to purchase tickets for The Cher Show. If we go to a matinee is there a chance the understudies might perform, rather than Stephanie J. Block and the regular cast?
Written 28 May 2019
Not sure but we were told the cast did two shows a day. Great show

Where are the bathrooms located and do they have adequate stalls in the women’s restroom?
Written 4 March 2019
HI, there are washrooms on the first and upper level. Not sure on the number of stalls however the lines seemed to flow fairly well on the upper level.

Just booked tickets for Cher musical at this theatre in November.. we are at the back on the mezzanine and a little concerned on what view to expect..anyone experienced seats here at the back?
Written 18 June 2018
Hi, I went to this theater twice, both times on the mezzanine, the first time was in the 3rd row and the second was in the first row. One thing to consider is that the mezzanine starts over the orchestra's 14th row. The theater itself is rather small rows being close together, I do believe you will have a good view of the stage.

How early do I need to arrive on Saturday night for Cats?
Written 13 December 2017
A line forms outside the theater. It's long, running down the block. Once they open the doors, it moves quickly. I would suggest arriving g at least 30-45 minutes beforehand.
