We booked concert tickets for an event featuring performer we knew well, but their was very little detail on the website about the specific nature of the event.
It became clear when the performers hit the stage, that we were not in for the evening we expected.
It was not advertised correctly and was so poor, that we left after 40 minutes.
Check before you buy tickets for a show in. this venue.
Our experience couldn't have been further than what we were expecting.

I went for the first time as my friends invited me to the Arturo O" Farrill Band
Concert. The place was packed, a sold out house.
The show was great, Afro-Cuban jazz music and featured Pedrito Martínez, Daymé Arocena, Jon Faddis and Donald Harrison.
Great music, at the end we stood up and danced encouraged by the performers.
A long great history this Hall has and it could be seen by the pictures of the different great performers throughout the Hall. A NYC Gem of a place there is no bad seat in the house.

Interesting venue just off Times Square the building itself is a bit bland and the interior could do with a face lift.

This is a historic theater that's small and intimate for a show. Comfortable seats (more leg room that the typical Broadway theater).

What a great place to hear music. We came here to see the “Live with Chris Thile” special Christmas show, a live NPR broadcast. I suppose it’s the small high school auditorium sized space is what made you feel like you were being let into someone’s living room for a big musical hug. Every seat was a winner, and the sound system spot on.
Only one small detail needed touch up; the quaint but tight lobby doesn’t comfortably accommodate the snack/wine bar line and people trying to enter the venue – – felt like being in a strange game of twister 😳. Kind of fun, really got to know your “neighbors “, no points taken off
The staff were warm and friendly. Would return in a drum beat

Take a good look at these two.
They wouldn’t let my friend come back inside after the conclusion of tonight’s Christmas show from Jinkxx Monsoon and Ben de la Creme after I texted him to come back in to look at the merchandise (pictured here also) they had for sale.
This is merchandise the headliners sell to help pay their bills because show business isn’t easy or reliably profitable.
This is merchandise which my friend could have spent considerable money on.
That’s profit the headliners now won’t see.
How many others did they put their hands on and blurt “no re-entry” to with no nuance whatsoever in soulless voices?
What about those of us on the right side of the house who couldn’t even have seen the merchandise when we first filed in to see the show...not that that even matters.
We really felt the Christmas spirit rain down on us from these two winners.

Saw Tricia Yearwood here and so enjoyed hearing her beautiful voice sing older hits, newer songs and even Sinatra. What a gorgeous voice, and I loved the way she interacted with the audience. She is a professional in her craft, and I came from Virginia to see this Show. This music venue has great acoustics. The warm up talent was Rachel Wammack, and I have no doubt she will continue to grow professionally and be around for a long time. Great evening at Town Hall.

We saw Old Crow Medicine Show last night and they certainly rocked the house. The band was in great form and delighted the audience with their energetic performance and showmanship. Town Hall is a great place to see a show!

I agree with the seeming consensus. Great venue. Intimate with great acoustics. My wife and I sat in the balcony. I am 6 ft 1 and the next day my legs were very sore from having the jammed up. The seats are narrow as well.
Still very glad I went.
Also note that the climb to the balcony is quite steep.

I've been to NYC plenty of times, but have never had the opportunity to attend a show at The Town Hall. Fortunately, Renaissance played a 50th anniversary show there on 10/11/19, and I found it to be a fantastic venue. The chairs are a bit early 20th century (meaning they are a bit small and not comfortable), but the view of the stage from where we sat (rear orchestra center) was incredible. Great acoustics too.
