Took in strawberry fields and dakota building during our walk of central park. Something every music fan should do. Got our photos and stood for a while listening to a busker singing/playing Beatles songs. Obviously not much to see as an attraction, more of a place to pay your respect and reflect. Would recommend.

Opposite Central Park & John's Strawberry Fields Memorial this iconic building brought home sad memories of that fateful day. Tearful

A classically built edifice with huge amounts of character approaching the Upper West Side from Columbus makes it unmissable, Located directly opposite to Central Park where the Strawberryfields memorial is positioned - commemmorating the life and sad tragic death of ex-Beatle John Lennon. If you're in the area do visit them all.

Easy to include in your walk around lower part of Central Park covering Strawberry Fields. Glancing skyward be sure to also take in the El Dorado, Beresford and San Remo towers too. Named for its remoteness from downtown Manhattan when built in the 1880s, the Dakota is now famous as the site of John Lennon's tragic murder in 1980.

We saw this on our bus tour. But we did get off and go for some pictures and to have a look at the John Lennon memorial. To be honest you will be here no longer than an hour in total as there's not much to see.

Granted there is not a lot to see, but it is a must visit place if you liked John Lennon, the man and what he stood for, then this truly is an important place to visit, the building has undergone a facelift which has been carried out sympathetically to blend in with the rest of the area. One can stroll... More

Home to some of the richest, most creative, and most talented people in the world. Around the corner from this building is where John Lennon was tragically murdered.

Convenient subway station located in front of the building. Home of John and Yoko Lennon. Also featured in movies. Recently renovated exterior, most of the scaffolding has been removed as of 11-18-2016.

You will only be able to view the exterior of the Dakota, so it's not worth a special visit unless you are a fan of John Lennon and want to see where he lived and died. That said, it's just outside the perimeter of Central Park, and the Strawberry Fields area so it's worth checking out the two together. The... More
