We went on Monday night and it was billed as songwriters evening but by and large the performers were c level and I am not a great judge but my guest were better at judging than me and they felt c level

I've been here a few times and it's always invigorating! Live music in a close setting is magical. Excellent acoustics. I love watching them set up the drum kit and making sure everything is right. I've eaten here too, but it's not the food I remember! I think the price can range from middle to a little bit on the... More

Get to Birdland when the doors open for a premium table . . . it's all general admission with host seating, so the earlier the better for vantage points. Then enjoy the atmosphere with cocktails and conversation and light fare or entrees. Eventually the focus will shift to the music, which is your call because you know what your ears... More

I've been a fan of music all of my life. But, for me, jazz has always been more of a spectator sport as opposed to passive background listening (meaning you need to see it live)... So, when the oppty to see a great quintet presented itself, in Manhattan, on a late Saturday night, we didn't hesitate. The club itself is... More

We stumbled onto this club because we made a wrong turn and we are glad we did! Took in an early show and had good cocktails, good dinner and some GREAT jazz! had we not been so tired, we would've gone after the show too!

Visited for the 9pm set on Superbowl Sunday so as venue was not full the owner invited us all to stay on for the 11pm set free of charge Music was great - Arturo O'Farrill - as were the cocktails Its a good venue albeit slightly too touristy for my taste. However suited our purposes as I took a girlfriend... More

I'm not a Jazz fan at all, went there for my friend who is. But this was the best venue I saw for this kind of entertainment: spacious, large room, giving the best views of the band. Good and attentive service.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
