We went to see Master Harold and the Boys, which was terrific. It is great to have the small cafe with real music to duck into before the performance. Ticket prices are reasonable and the seating couldn't be better. We will definitely return for other shows.

We visited for mid week lunch today whilst on our first visit to New York. We had an excellent meal, with very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of local people were also visiting, which is always a good sign. The restaurant appears to have been there a long time, built underneath a bridge just outside grand central station. We will... We have been to this complex of small theaters twice, most recently last week to see "Small Mouth Noises". The cost of attending a performance here is considerably less than a Broadway show. My wife liked this show a lot, but I found it a bit embarrassing in that it seemed to make fun of the religion of the characters,... More

This space is well lit modern and very comfortable. We have seen terrific shows in all of their spaces - the bar and lounge seating is comfortable. The theater seats are comfortable and the sight lines are very good. The restrooms are convenient and well located. If you have tickets waiting they are efficiently and swiftly handed to you at... This is a great theater that is willing to try some different shows. The lobby bar is awesome - make sure you arrive early and enjoy the vibe! The play is a bonus!

The Signature Theater's production of Old Hats is the best show I've seen in a long time. Bill Irwin and David Shiner are wonderfully funny mimes originally from San Francisco. They've performed together for years and are still fresh and hysterically funny. Shaina Taub and her band are a great addition and fun to see as well.

Just saw Old Hats and it was excellent! What added to that experience was the theater and those that welcomed us throughout the evening. The theater's cafe, show and seating area were a great way to pass time. Once in the theater, it was extremely comfortable and the view was great from everywhere. Definitely use the parking suggestion from their... More

Bill Irwin and David Shiner (google them if you don't know who they are) return to Broadway with an amazing clown show but so much more. They are extraordinary physical comedians and the accompanying music by the talented Shaina Taub and her little band. These guys are reunited after many years apart (Fool Moon was their first show) and this... More

We attended "Incident at Vichy" and would go back again to another play. The theater is new and clean and has a nice open cafe/bar area in the upstairs lobby. Good space for meeting before and after the play. We bought a glass of wine, and were told we could take it in to the play, but ushers disputed that.... More

This is a relatively new complex in West Midtown, a brief walk from the main Broadway theaters. To the credit of the producers, they often devote a year to a series of productions of famous playwrights such as Pinter and Miller and Williams. In addition, they have experimental works in smaller stages. (Bill Ackman, the famous hedge fund player, donated... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
