About
Lovingly known as the “Ghostbusters Fire Station,” this fully functional firehouse is home to New York City’s Hook & Ladder Company 8. Come up close and personal to the building where Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston set up their ghostbusting operations, and spot the full-size Ghostbusters sign hanging right above the main entrance. If the crew happens to be around, you can even pop in to buy some memorabilia. Avid TV and film buffs can also join a TV and movie tour to check the Ghostbusters Fire Station and other prominent filming locations off your list. – Tripadvisor

A must stop for any Ghostbusters fan!
It’s a must if you are a Ghostbusters fan. It was awesome to purchase FDNY “Ghostbusters” shirts from the actual fire department and actual location of the Ghostbusters movies. I fully fully understand and respect this is an active fire department but I would have loved nothing more than to just take a quick peek inside. But sadly this isn’t a tourist attraction, but I’m glad I got as close as I did and purchased something from them!

    Who ya Gonna call?
Located at 14 North Moore street. Not far from canal street and many major Subway stations. That was a pleasure to see ladder number 8. Make sure to walk there as there's not much parking around. You will find a big Ghostbusters logo on the sidewalk. To help identify the building. Need help? Who ya gonna call.

    Who Ya Gonna Call???
Located in TriBeCa the Ghostbusters firehouse is easily found if you are coming from Canal Street. Just head South. If you are stuck then google maps will help you out too. I was really pleased to see that the fire house is still in use by NY firefighters and they are happy for pix to be taken of their building. Highly recommended if you are a Ghostbusters fan.

Bustin makes me feel good !
OMG the one star reviews on here made me laugh so much, People obviously not doing there research before hand, Its a active firehouse, it was used for the external shots in the ghostbusters films. its a working fire house so dont know what people expected, the sign is hanging outside and the ladder 8 logo is painted on the sidewalk, for a fan of Ghostbusters its a proper breath taking moment. While we was taking pictures the doors opened and we got to see inside ( what a treat) lots of ghostbusters stuff and got to buy some of Ladder8's merchandise the money goes to the firehouse, i also think you can knock on the side door and if there not busy they will open up, if your a fan its a must if your not don't go .....

The fire station from the movie
Nephew wanted to visit it as had seen the movie before we went. There are a few signs outside the building and a good photo opportunity but not much else. However it did make us go and re watch the films and i had forgotten how much fun they wore so the trip was definitely worth it on that front. Its a stop on the way to something else type of attraction as opposed to a special visit

    Hoping for so much more.
I understand that in NYC it is difficult to keep real estate like this in its original capacity so I am thankful that it has not been torn down. That said I was really disappointed with this site. There is no access at all to the inside and who ever owns it doesn't seem to want anyone around. It was such a shame to see that no one has taken advantage and found some way to make the site a fun place for kids to visit. I am so glad that my kids and I actually got a chance to go see it but I really wish there were more to see. Its a long walk thru Tribeca just to see an old firehose and it would be a shame to see it get torn down or demolished.

    Who you gonna call? GhostBusters!
The GhostBusters Firehouse in Tribeca is the actual location of the firehouse in the Ghostbusters movie. It is very cool seeing th actual location where you can purchase magnets, T-shirt’s, and hoodies. Although crowded on weekends, I highly recommend.

    Ghostbuster firehouse
Just what I imanged. Excited to see the firehouse from the movie . Loved the 1st movie and always wanted to visit there. Even better, while we were there, the fire truck came out of the building, and to see the ghostbuster badge on the front of the truck was surreal .

Wandered past the old fire station on our way downtown. Definitely worth a photo if you’re in the area. Such a great movie, the original, not the re make. Who ya gonna call?📞

    Engine 8 Crew Are AWEOME!!!
This was a COMPLETELY accidental find. We got a bit lost walking to Little Italy (long story) to meet up with family for dinner and ended up here. Cell phones were dying and we were getting a bit frustrated. I noticed to firehouse across the way and we walked over to take pictures. As we were trying to figure out where to go Engine 8 pulled in. The guys jumped off, saw us, and walked over to help. Can honestly say these guys were the nicest and most helpful people we met in NYC. They directed us where to go, asked if they could call us a Taxi or Uber (we declined as it was just a couple of blocks) and were just a great group of guys. THANK YOU!!!

I visited this place as I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan. It is still a fully operational fire station so this is not a tour or museum.

The 'attraction' literally is you can see the outside of the building which was featured in Ghostbusters 1 and 2. If the main fire truck door is open you can buy a t-shirt, hoodie or pin commemorating the place but aside from that this really is just a photo opportunity place.

I'm really glad I came here though. It was really easy to get to on the subway. I'd recommend. Please bare in mind though the people working there are firemen/women not tour guides!!

Growing up I adored the movie Ghostbusters and loved the characters, especially Bill Murray. To be honest I did not know that its HQ is right there, I was going to Tamarind Tribeca and saw this sign in Google Maps and I was like, I can have lunch later, first explore this. I'm glad I did.

Fact: Hook & Ladder Company 8 is a fully functional firehouse, so respect their space and time. I can see their frustration when everyone asks the same questions. I just had a look, smiled, greeted them, and moved along.

The 1903 Beaux-Arts building, home to the real-life Hook & Ladder Company 8, was used for the exterior scenes of the fictional firehouse where Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston set up their ghostbusting operations. Although the Ghostbusters logo sign might not hang from the front of the building like in the movie, it’s still plainly recognizable today as the Ghostbusters firehouse. [the interior was shot in a Los Angeles studio]

it also appeared in the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot.

This building has been in service for over 100 years and is older than the Fire Department of New York.

Due to the high volume of tourists and fans who come to the firehouse, a few themed updates have been made. The Ghostbusers logo has been painted on the front sidewalk, and the Ghostbusers and Ghostbuster 2 logo signage hangs inside. There’s a subtle tribute to the movie, painted on the ground near the station house – a rendition of the Ghostbusters logo.

Iconic film location from a favourite childhood movie, nice photo stop if on the area. Nice touch adding the various Ghostbusters logos and laughed at the inflatable marshmallow man in the window of the shop opposite. Constant stream of people taking pics when we were there and the fire crew obviously love it as they were sitting by the fire truck posing.

If you are in the area I recommend that you check this out. Nothing much to see or do other than take a picture in front of the building. You can't go in and nobody is outside, it's really just a photo op. I recommend taking the 1 subway to the Franklin St stop, seeing the HQ building, then walking to Chinatown or Little Italy for some eats.

If you’re a diehard fan of the movies, this will definitely make you happy. A little “pic stop” as I like to call them, just like the FRIENDS apartment building or the house from home alone. Still cool, still hits you in the feels a bit.
Advice: try to get here early in the morning. At 9-10 AM there were a few people taking pics already. Nothing too crazy, but if you like to take a million photos, from a million angles, like I do, I think coming early might be better, especially if you come from far away, and want to get the best possible experiences from NYC.

When we began planning our most recent trip to NY, my 10 year old asked if we could see the Firehouse from Ghostbusters. Despite growing up on LI and loving Ghostbusters, I never realized this was something you could do! I'm so glad he suggested it! After a relaxing lunch in Little Italy, we walked a little less than a mile for a photo op. Lunch and the firehouse made a great afternoon. Beyond a chance for a photo, there's not much to see/do, but it's fun, free, and the firefighters are good sports about tourists hanging out in front of their workplace.
