    Small But Delightful
We spent the afternoon here and had a delightful time. The exhibits are very well designed and you get close viewing of all of the animals. Even with spending as much time as we liked, it only took us 3 hours to tour the zoo, but we enjoyed every minute.

    Zoo
Visited the Zoo in the Central Park. Paid $13 for the limited admission (no kids zoo or movie theater). It’s small, nothing special but worth walking a bit and it’s something to do if walking around the area

    Pleasant Afternoon At The Zoo
Located in Central Park the zoo is a breath of fresh air! It’s not too expensive to enter I think it was about $13 maybe? There are quite a lot of animals, birds, lizards, penguins and much more to see! I really enjoyed my afternoon at the zoo! The only downfall for me was I felt that some of the enclosures were too small for quite a few of the animals, especially the bears. Maybe look into expanding the park if possible or try making the enclosures bigger and more homely for them? But overall the animals were great to see and it’s a lovely little break from the busy city.

    Brilliant zoo
Love this zoo, very airy and spacious. Bird house is brilliant to walk through, penguin pool is really good as you can get very close up. We did get to see the snow leopard and grizzly bears. Highlight was the seal feeding, very energetic and engaging. The staff and trainers were vey good and helpful. Restaurant was very clean with has a good selection of food, the Nathan hot dogs were great. All sensibly priced. Would definitely recommend to all and those with young children!!

    Extremely lovely workers
Very cute and peaceful little zoo in the heart of Central Park. Unfortunately when we visited the lights in the penguin enclosure were broken so they were swimming in the dark and the bear enclosure was shut down for the day to have maintenance work done. However, all this being said we met a lovely worker in the tropical enclosure who showed us where we could spot the bats and taught us about the peacocks! Definitely would visit again when all of it is open.

Lovely place, small spaces for animals 👎
The zoo is well kept and maintained. It’s beautiful and presented really well and easily accessible. My faults with this are that the animals don’t appear to have a lot of space and it slightly concerned me. That’s the only fault I could pick out with this zoo but it is important. That is something that the park needs to think about.

The enclosures were far too small for the animals, especially the snow leopards who were just walking around in circles continuously. If I had know it was like this I wouldn’t have gone, felt awful for the animals I can’t believe it’s still open! No staff there looking after the animals either that we could see.

The zoo's grounds are lovely and well-kept; very symmetrical and beautiful horticulture. However, I didn't feel overly comfortable with the minimal space that the animals have and the condition of their enclosures. It did sadden me. There were also very few staff on-site; it took me a good 20 minutes to locate a member of staff to ask a question.

The cafeteria was good and the selection of food was positive.

We had an amazing trip to Central Park Zoo.
We paid $13.95 per adult and spent a good few hours, however I do believe you could spend all day ther rif you wanted.
There is a cafe on site as well however it was very busy.
It was a lovely morning and the weather was so nice.
The zoo was very busy with school outings so there were big groups of children all around the zoo.
We visited the Penguin Enclosure which was lovely they were very active.
The bears were looking very active also in their enclosure.
The seal lions were great fun and others including ourselves enjoyed watching them
The zoo is very well maintained and there was work getting done outside the toilets however that didn't affect our visit.
The gift shop is not very big and very overpriced.
They need to have low cost items for children that don't have alot of spending money instead of charging $30 plus per cuddly toy.
They had pencils behind the counter for 75c each however if you didn't see them you would have missed them.
Will definitely visit again on our next trip.

It was awfull! The grizzly bears looked very distressed in the tiny and dirty enclosures. It is heartbreaking. I regret going to this zoo. This zoo should be closed.

Absolutely Disgusting! Will never be returning and wouldn’t recommend the visit.
Was heartbreaking to see the distressed animals in tiny and dirty enclosures.
The animal that caught my attention the most was the poor bear that was pacing up and down its tiny enclosure looking very distressed. Also the penguins that were crammed into a dark small room displaying concerning behaviours. How this place remains open and meets animal welfare standards I will never know!

We thought it would be nice to go to the zoo as we was going to central park but this was the worst mistake we made. The enclosures were too small for the amount of animals also looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. There was a bear that was doing the same walk for the whole time looking very distressed and neglected. There was not one worker to be seen around the premises caring for the animals. Not only was the bear distressing to see but the snow leopard looked extremely depressed, underfed and alone. I would not recommend this zoo to anyone as it was extremely disturbing and heartbreaking to see. Hopefully something can be done about this to save those poor animals.

Very nice zoo, good escape from traffic and crowds in NY City. Very convenient if you are staying upper east or west side, or midtown. Tropical rainforest is like being in another world. You can get very close to some gorgeous birds, among other animals. Also fun are bear enclosure and snow leopard enclosure and red panda enclosure. All those animals look well cared for and have enrichment activities. Layout of zoo is nice and you can see the whole thing in an hour or hour and a half if you have that much time. Cost is not high especially by NY City standards. Nice places to sit and relax with a drink or without.....good escape from city stresses. Adults without kids will enjoy this aspect even if they arent especially animal lovers.
