We came here after visiting Grant's tomb. It was a Sunday and services were underway. A hostess kindly suggested that if we didn't want to join the service, we could ascend to the second floor and look down from above. This is an absolutely spectacular...More

Set on Morningside Heights, this Riverside Church is most impressive with it's massive architectural facade designs as we as sky scraping height. Definitely worth a visit if you like old church designs and historical buildings!

The church is free to enter. There is the worship area, with nice art of stained glass windows. And there is the Gethsemane Chapel, which is by the right of the entrance, outside of the main worship area. While it is not worth going out...More

A beautiful church within walking distance from the subway. Walking through Harlem an up the hill to the church overlooking the Hudson River. Unable to take the elevator to the top as it's been closed for several years.

I ventured in here for the first time, after visiting The General Grant Memorial (Grant's Tomb). This is a very beautiful and solemn church. Even if you don't "believe", the architecture alone is enough to make you stare in wonder. A cool trivia fact, Riverside...More

What's special about Riverside is that it's not only an amazing work for architecture and local craftsmanship, but it's also a building used by the community for a variety of cultural purposes.

The church prides itself as being progressive and inclusive, one of the few churches in the city actively supporting LGBT causes. The church exterior catches the eye with its stunning architecture, and the grand interior is just as stunning. There is a small gift shop...More

If you're up on the upper West Side visiting Columbia, Barnard, and Grant's Tomb, make sure that you include a visit to Riverside Church. This place is unbelievable. The architecture is, to me, far more impressive than St. Patrick's. Can you imagine what a bonus...More

The building is open 24/7 I attended the 10:45 am Sunday service. The service seems interdenominational , beautiful organist, hymns, solos afterwards the head pastor invites attendees to 15 Q&A upfront concerning the sermon and everyone else invited to open coffee house. Anyone interested in...More
