A friend recommended me Sleep No More as a "less traditional theatre experience". that must've been the understatement of the year. Wow, just woooowwwww! Everything starts with a queue outside a warehouse and coat check. Then there is a hotel reception where you get a playing card. From there you are led to a bar. Everything afterwards is very hard... My boyfriend and I was there during our Christmas trip to New York. We were early that day therefore we went to the bar for a drink before the scheduled time. I did not like how the bar have no seats at all. Anyway, once we got inside the building we were immersed in a mysterious atmosphere. I am not... More

The show had been recommended to me in glowing terms so we booked ourselves in for the 5.45pm entry on 18th March. From reading other reviews I was a little apprehensive that I would fall into the "this is all nonsense" camp but tried to keep as open a mind as possible and enjoy the experience. Which I'm pleased to... More

Where do I start?? My husband, a couple friends and I spent a few days in NYC and this show is what I was most looking forward to... it did not disappoint! We had tickets to the 7pm wave and got there around 6:30 to line up. There were already about 20-25 people ahead of us. I don't think they... More

I wasn't aware of much about the play before turning up with my girlfriend. I spent 3 hours of confusion and boredom tracking the actors and exploring the set. It was interesting reading up on the background afterwards and would have vastly improved the exoerience if I had done so beforehand. I recommend you do so if you intend to... More

One of the most amazing experiences. I think explaining too much would ruin it, just come and try it out. One suggestion is even if you come with a group, once you're inside, wonder around on your own. The experience would be much more immersive.

Hidden behind masks we begin to explore the mysterious rooms of the McKittrick Hotel. Holding hands and frightened about what we were going to find there. Set in the thirties, twenty-three actors interpret their characters in different dramatic and macabre scenes around the hotel. Feeling like in the movie "Eyes wide shut". The public are looking, touching, smelling, feeling and... More

There are not enough words to describe how much I love Sleep No More. There is nothing like it, anywhere, in the entire world. It is a magical place and experience, it's completely unworldly and bizarre and wonderful in every way that you can't imagine. I've been twice and both times have been completely different and fantastical in their own... More

Maybe there is something wrong with me. But I thought this was utter unmitigated tripe. Actually no... if I'd paid, say, 35 dollars for this, in fact even 45 (I'm travelling on the pound which is worth nothing right now so have to make allowances) I'd probably just be saying that it wasn't for me and leaving it at that.... Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
