The theaters are smaller and more intimate than normal which was not a problem at all. Seating space was tight though-our knees were right against the seats in front-unexpected for someone who is only 5’8. Staff were gelpful and attentive. Bathrooms were convenient but had too few stalls for patrons.

Went to see Jersey Boys (GREAT SHOW!) with my best friend and our boyfriends. I am a plus size woman (size 20 pants for anyone who is wondering) and I BARELY fit in the seats. I was grateful that I was between my boyfriend and my best friend because it was awfully tight (not to mention embarrassing). We sat in the front row of the mezzanine and I also had to sit sideways because my legs were too long. I am only 5'5" and my knee was bruised the next day from hitting the front row. My boyfriend who is average size and height was also terribly uncomfortable. There were many people in this section that had similar complaints. I would also like to mention that I have seen multiple Broadway shows and have never had this issue. The venue itself is very intimate and very clean, all staff are super helpful. Just wanted to put out a friendly review advising others that you may also have issues.

Four of us attended a play here. The Play That Goes Wrong on Friday, December 29, 2023. My wife and I and the other couple who wanted to see it, so we went along. When you walk by this theater, from the sidewalk it looks really tiny. But then, once you get inside they usher you downstairs where there are 5 different theaters. Without staff showing us the way we would have no idea where to go, it is that big a place. The restrooms are shared by all theaters and are downstairs, so also a bit confusing how to get to them. However, the bar is very convenient to buy the expensive drinks, which we did imbibe. This is a newer theater, unlike most of the very old theaters on Broadway. Therefore the seats are slightly roomier and the views are better. The show itself was rather adolescent in nature, slap-schtick, visual comedy. There are a lot of moments of complete silence as if it takes the audience a few moments to get the joke. No these moments of silence are unnecessary and childish. There are laugh-out-loud moments, but mostly predictable. Enjoyable though and not nearly as pricy as Broadway shows.

Went recently to see Rock and Roll Man - the Alan Freed Story- the theater is easy to find and centrally located . The staff was vey friendly and helpful. -I had an aisle seat and although I am not very tall I was glad to be able to stretch . It seems that most seats in the small venue are good seats
I was on the orchestra right
the show was enjoyable with a talented and committed cast
Drawback elevators and escalators not working and there are many steps which were a challenge for this seasoned citizen with a hip that doesn't always want to cooperate but I made it

We stumbled in thanks to our guide who tipped off Broadway! You can find discounted Broadway and Off Broadway tickets at Times Square! We chose A sign of the times! Sooooo good! It was good music and important social issues from the 60s, fantastically talented artists and very charming when it gets small and intimate. Watch it!!!!

We got to see Jersey Boys before they leave NYC. It was everything we expected and more. It was easy getting seated, the seats were quite comfortable, and view of the stage was great. The only criticism would be to use the HVAC system to control the climate. With a packed audience and abnormally warm temperatures outside, it got a little stuffy inside the theater.

The physical address plays host to Jersey Boys, the Gazillion Bubble Show and Rock of Ages. Can only
speak to the latter. Scored amazing tickets about 6 rows from the stage- orchestra Amazing. The show- definitely something I'd see again. The venue for Rock of Ages is small in the scheme of Broadway, but the acoustics, the intimacy and the decor was fabulous. Having actors pop up next to your chair, unexpected surprise. The cast and crew do an amazing job and are incredibly talented. My first experience at this venue (I did see Jersey Boys years ago- was this the same venue?)
Coat check, bar, seat service, clean restrooms and convenient location in the heart of the theatre district.

The venue is easy to find and navigate. Stage 5 has very narrow seats - I very nearly didn’t fit at all. Thankfully the first row had ample legroom so that helped. The show itself (Without You) was fantastic and the intimate theatre space added to the experience.

Saw rock of ages. It was truly amazing. During the show, they needed to evacuate the theater. The employees were super helpful and apologetic. They got everyone outside quickly and safely. Allowed me to use the elevator as I was struggling a bit coming back in after all those stairs and standing outside (disabled and depend on a cane). Clean facility. Will be back!

This is a very nice venue with (I think) 5 stages. We were in #4 to see "The Play that Goes Wrong." Not a bad seat in the house. Stage lighting and sound excellent.
Bathrooms, etc very clean.
We did get a drink at the bar. Pricey like I'd expect at any of the bars in this area (equivalent).

What time do the doors open for an 8:00 show?
Written 29 September 2023
Usually the house opens 1/2 hour before the show begins.

Has anyone say in orchestra row G at the side? Seats 7 & 8. Wondering what the view is like as it appears side on from the map

I honestly don’t think there is a bad seat in the theatre. It’s small and quaint.

How are end seats in Row B mezzanine at New World Stage Theater for viewing?
Written 10 March 2019
For mezzanine seating at New World Stage theater in New York....is 1st row in mezzanine ok for view? A lot of theaters have a rail and sometimes not the best row to sit in.
Written 4 March 2019
hi, I think it all depends on your sitting hight, I'm 95cm seated and I don't recall being an obstruction to my view.
Written 27 March 2019
Very safe. The entire area is loaded with people (tourists) walking around and there is always activity due to shows and restaurants being open. Taxis are abundant so if you wanted to jump in a cab, you just have to hail one off the street (better yet get the Curb app and you can pre-order a cab to be ready for you right outside the theater).

Is this the same venue where, several years ago, you could line up a half hour before show time, pay $22 cash and attend a performance?

I am buying tickets to Avenue Q on Stage 3 and was wondering if anyone has sat in row a? I tend to avoid the first row at the movie theater because it feels like you're looking up.. is that how it is here?
Written 4 January 2018
I sat on row C and the view of the stage was wonderful. Did not feel like I was having to look up at all.

What are the best local bars to visit.
I here from some of the reviews the hotel bar is very expensive.

Not sure what you are asking. New World Stages is a group of theaters, not a hotel.
