First time I have been in the City for the Easter Parade. Loved it, so many people, children, animals all decked out in hats and costumes. Everyone was having a great time.

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this FREE event. There were literally thousands of people on 5th Avenue (closed to traffic) showing their Easter Bonnets. Some professionally made, others very much handmade. All were willing to be involved in photographs and there atmosphere was full of fun. DEFINITELY recommend this if you are in New York over the... It's not Irving Berlin's Easter Parade anymore. But, the characters and wild bonnets make it fun to be there.

We attended Easter Service at St.Patricks Cathedral and afterwards thoroughly enjoyed the "Easter Parade" on fifth avenue. This should be a must on any visitors list.

They close off Fifth Avenue for a dozen blocks and people stroll and gather and strut their hats, costumes, and more.

I live in New York and went to the Easter "Parade" for the first time today. They block off 49th to 59th St (St. Patrick's Cathedral to Central Park). There are maybe 100 people out of the thousands milling about on the street who wear great hats and some are in full costumes. Some had nothing to do with Easter... More

"In your Easter Bonnet, with all the frills upon it, you'll be the fairest person in the Easter Parade. On the avenue, Fifth Avenue, the photographers, will snap us..." Is there much in Manhattan that can be memorable AND FREE? Probably not too much, though our great parks and bridges come to mind. HOWEVER, that being said, there is a... More

This is my first official outing in New York! And I didn’t expect is Easter here. In my place Hong Kong, Easter Holiday is just a Holiday for me, nothing special actually, but here is just so different. I guess, maybe it is because of western culture. They got the parade in New York city in 5th Ave. I was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
