We visited the Strand April 6. On one hand it was by far the largest used book store I have ever encountered -- so big and sprawling that it is impossible to fully view all the sections. And with nowhere to sit, you quickly run...More

A historic bookstore, one of the best collections of new and used books anywhere. We went to look specifically for books to teach English to speakers of other languages and found a couple of gems. Highly recommended for those looking for hard to find books.

I never get tired of visiting and browsing the shelves at Strand. Such variety and I also love the gift items. You could spend hours in here! Visit and support this independent bookstore.

Was no impressed with this bookstore. It was too warm in there and not really that special. It was an average bookstore except for its size.

What a wonderful store. We could have spent endless hours there had time permitted, and the two hours that we could afford passed in a blink. A dazzling selection and knowledgeable staff. A NYC must do.

The Strand is definitely the place to stop if you love books. Even if you aren't planning on buying something, it's worth it to look at all the books they have (and they have a rare collection that open to the public). It's very well...More

We spent some quality time in this awesome store. They have a very diverse selection of books & it's easy to lose track of time while shopping there.
