A great store with very expensive goods. Get your 10% discount card before you pay for your goods and get your "little brown bag"! Worth seeing even just to window shop 😉

Took my girlfriend shopping her and was an amazing store, the Americans certainly know what good customer service is, and couldn't be more helpful. spent a lot in store and we spent about three hours her and had a very enjoyable time, if you enjoy shopping this place is heaven.

Bloomingdales was on the list of must visit, we went at around 5pm and it was quieter than we expected but it wasn't up to much. There wasn't a Christmas feeling unlike Macy's, nothing else I can say about it apart from disappointment

We were very impressed with the staff at Bloomingdales. Santa was available for a photo op and it was one of those surprisingly friendly experiences. Everybody their was working at helping each parent get comfortable with taking a picture of a once calm child crying their heart out on Santa's lap. But it did not end there. In a completely... Bloomingdales at 3rd avenue and 59th is somewhat of a NYC institution along with Macys down on Herald square but has a far better environment (and subsequently higher prices) due to the fact that Macys is a real bargain basement store now with crowds more like Penn Station at peak times. The one thing that let it down for me... More

Worth a visit especially near Christmas as Christmas shop was open. Staff friendly and visitors get 10% off anything purchased. The little brown bags are sold here which are about 20 dollars. You can't go to New York and not look in here.

Fab department store experience. Extensive range of everything imaginable. Go to the Tourist desk first to get a discount voucher then get 10% off what you buy. If you are looking for Little Brown Bags then ask for the dedicated section that sells them. All the Little Brown and Medium Brown things are here.

Found Macy's more enjoyable. Went on Black Friday and Bloomingdales just didn't have any atmosphere.

Beautiful space belied the poor food. Good server, but when I told him about my poor Eggs Benedict, nothing. I ordered them with a Crab Cake, which was excellent. But the English muffin was raw and the eggs well done. A watered down Bloody Mary and $35.00 bucks later I left never to darken their door step again.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
