From its inception, Macy's Herald Square was a store unlike any other. Over the past 150 years, it has become a true New York City icon. Built in 1902, Macy's Herald Square was the first building to have the modern-day escalator, and it has continued to be a trendsetter. Today, "America's Largest Department Store" covers an entire city block with 11 levels of the latest fashions for you and your home. Macy's offers a full-service Visitor Center on the Mezzanine Level, plus restaurants throughout the store and exciting events almost every day.

This is actually regarding Macy's online. I made purchase of a very expensive Blendtec. I was happy to see it included a mail-in rebate for an extra Jar, in fact that's why I decided to buy it at that time. No rebate was emailed to me. No rebate came in the box. I called Blendtec. They called back and said... More

For such a well known name I was absolutely appalled at the ignorance of the employees. To a certain degree I sadly expect and anticipate a degree of snippiness and unfriendliness - that seems to come with the department store territory. This was a whole extra level. The women directing the line for the fitting rooms was screaming and yelling.... More

Was rather disappointed with Macy's - perhaps I was just expecting too much. Don't use the toilets on the 7th Floor near Auntie Annie's and the Yoghurt place - absolutely disgusting. They are currently carrying out work on the lower floor and will hopefully continue all the way up.

My wife and I visited Macy's in September 2015 while we were in NYC for a short break. A total contrast to Bloomingdales which we hated, the staff at Macy's were helpful and attentive without the need to bombard you with the hard sell techniques they use at Bloomingdales. We bought lots of jewellery as gifts for family, as well... More

I really did enjoy my experience here in the Macy's Herald Square, the store is so big with so much variety; that there's always something for everyone. We've came here around the New Year period which I believe that was one of the busiest in the year. We would often come here to dine at the Cucina & Co as... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
