It may have been a cold day, but my daughter and I really enjoyed walking through the remains of the 1939 and 1964-1965 world's fair grounds. The Unisphere sure has staying power. Don't forget your camera. And the nearby NY State Pavilion, now in total disrepair, is another place where you can imagine what the park must have been like... More

Huge steel sculpture of the world, one of the main attractions in Corona Park. Stopped for pictures on my way to nearby Queens Museum.

A New York City landmark, and a triumph of engineering and metalwork. It is a standout in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, set within a pool and fountain. If you're in the area, sure, stop and spend a few minutes. Or use it as a bike destination.

Very nice globe in the Borough of Queens conveniently located right near all the other attractions in Queens. It shoots out water too and there are lots of kids playing in the waterpark so this is a great place to bring your kids as well.

Built for the 1964 World's Fair, this is quite a large, impressive sculpture. It is 12 stories tall and looks much bigger in person than it does in photos. It is absolutely gorgeous at night with the fountains and lights. Very peaceful and appealing.

I loved going there. It brought so many memories of the NY World's Fair. 64-65. For the young, who missed it. it was such a amazing fair.

I was born after the 1964 World's Fair so I don't have the memories of it but it's beautiful to see and easy to find.
