    Wait for me.....
I tried to go in blind, but I know the basic story of Eurydice and Orpheus, so there weren't any surprises for me. Still, the show is a must see! Lillias White as Hermes...YES! We had an understudy for Hades, Alex Puette, and he was fantastic! Maybe he did too good of a job, because we listened to the original cast recording later, and we much preferred our cast than the original recording (there are a few originals still on Broadway). Reeve Carney as Orpheus...eh...he's the original, but not necessarily my favorite. That's just personal taste, I suppose. Afterwards we did stage door, and most of the cast came out. That's always a neat experience, just having a small interaction and showing appreciation to those who performed.

Squashed in to watch a show that wasn’t what I expected.
First thing to say is that if you are 6 feet tall, or even less your knees will be up around your chin if you sit in the mezzanine. It really is that uncomfortable. Second thing to say is why do Seat Geek need to add €20 per ticket just to process them, it’s a complete rip off. As to the show it really wasn’t my thing but everyone else seemed to love it so I’m happy to put that down to experience …

    Good, not great
A few of the performers really carried this musical (those playing Hades, Hermes and Eurydice). The plot was weak so I found myself bored now and again. I also didn’t enjoy some of the songs. The dancing was good. Loved the Walter Kerr theater. I’m glad I went to see it but I was glad when it was over.

    Go see it
It's an old story. Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love. Then there's a challenge to that love. But this musical is set in ancient times when immortals and some mortals could transit between earth and hell. It's a fabulous musical. Go see it.

    Amazing!!
Awesome show. I saw the show when it first came out with the original cast years ago. This is my second time and it was fantastic. 2 hours and 50 minutes that will go by in a breeze. Great performances by the cast, amazing musicians, beautiful venue. One of the best shows in Broadway hands down. Absolutely worth it!

Mixed performance, story with a forced "happy" end
It was an entertaining afternoon but the performance had ups and downs - some of the singers are really good, others only so-so and in our setting Hades was clearly struggling. I also minded the desperate attempt to give a happy ending to a story with, well: no happy end ("we'll keep telling the story..."). And frankly, for that price I'd at least like to be able to sit without feeling like my kneecaps will be gone by the end like in economy minus of a cheap airline.

An engaging tale well choreographed, with excellent use of stage / scenery and catchy songs
Loved hadestown- the story is engaging and well told, the singing and choreography was outstanding. The teenagers loved it! Comfort tip / It was cold in the theater (we were on the ground floor) so bring something warm to wear! Oh and water costs $6 so maybe drink some in the line beforehand!

    Great Experience
I went with my wife to Hadestown in FL and it was fantastic. It was really good, and we really recommend the show. Please note that it is very “lore” heavy, so if you don’t want to follow a story, maybe this show is not for you.

    Outstanding show!
We first saw Hadestown in September 2023 and enjoyed it so much that we went again on our most recent trip to NYC. The show is fantastic, with great music, a great cast, and a great set. We would see it again.

I saw this at the Lyric Theater in London. One of the most heart-felt, well-done shows I’ve ever seen. In particular, the actor playing Hermes absolutely brought the show to life. And then talk about sticking the landing, the ending was brilliant. I could not recommend this more strongly.

Just wow! We absolutely loved this production. Jordan Fisher, Isa Briones, and Phillip Boykin did not disappoint. The music is stellar, and it is lovely to have the musicians on stage and actually part of the show. We had front row seats, and it was all just spectacular.

After the show a few cast members came outside and signed autographs and chatted with the guests. They were gracious as they patiently got to everyone.

This production and the performers were just amazing! Go. See. It!

Why is this musical not being shouted about from the rooftops? Great music, great acting, great emotions, great set. What more can you ask for? I’ve seen lots of musicals and believe me, this is one of the best. Sadly, I saw no advertising for it on the tube stations or anywhere else. Why not? It so deserves every award.

The production, music, the stage, and the acting were all good. However the the story was disjointed from this, and I struggled to understand what on Earth was going on. The show came together in the second half. In all honesto, if you want to enjoy the music, costumes, and the scenic atolmosphere, this is the ahow for you. The storyline just did not for with all the above. When I started watching, I thought that I was watching something about vampires and werewolves in New Orleans and was waiting for it to kick off with some witches. I think if they had written this for vampires and werewolves, the whole production would not be out of place.

The performers were excellent but this musical was the worst I’ve seen ever!! Like many other bad reviews on here we agree with them all ! Seen over a 100 musicals but this one was drab boring , and couldn’t wait for it to end. Usually when you leave a musical you are humming tunes and feel good , this musical we were silent and needed a stiff drink . Don’t really know how this musical won a Tony, all I can think of is that the woke brigade are at large as this musical did no way deserve it. Why all those different accents? Once again the actors were very talented, but I wouldn’t recommend this musical to anyone !!!!

The inspiration was Greek mythology-you know, the people who brought us pathos? And this is what they came up with? I didn’t care about any of these characters because that’s all they were. They weren’t people. And the job of theater is to make us feel our collective humanity, through the story and the actors. Please note that I found no fault with the singing and dancing talent. But the plot was muddy and the music monotonous. And as with almost every musical I’ve seen, the songs are so predictable. Here’s the song about the place we live in and why we hate it, here’s the song about the place we dream of. Here’s the song about why I love you, and one about the obstacles between us. Just once I’d like a song about why they like a good sandwich 😂 or something personal and relatable. Everything’s basically a solo, a muscular heavy-hitting solo, that leaves me cold. That’s for musicals in general and this show. Keep it simple and keep it real, Broadway. Please?

Went to see it because of Ani Defranko. ALL TALENT was amazing. Flawless performances. However, the plot is completely woke and dragged out. A beautiful and tragic story was butchered to not so subtly adress the issues global warming and capitalism. That part was totally sickening. And why did they introduce musicians in the middle of the show? The music was just blah. Nothing memorable.

I've watched Hadestown in the Walter Kerr Theatre twice; once in December 2023 and in February 2024. Both times were just incredible. You are greeted by charismatic staff who do their job in hyping up the crowd. A man asked the guests in the line if it was their first visit, and most people said no! The reason why it was my second time was because my friend was in town and wanted to see the show for a FIFTH time!

The stage production exudes a New Orleans vibe that people with southern roots may appreciate. The music was also jazzy and upbeat, despite it being inspired by a Greek tragedy.

The show itself had me laughing, gasping, and close to tears. On my first watch, a lady beside me had cried so loudly that the whole row turned their heads at her.

It's a show that is best to watch completely blind to immerse yourself in the story. But let's say you already know how it ends (like I did), you'll still get a kick out of the star power on stage giving it their all to entertain the crowd.

I was grateful to have my first watch include famous actor, Jordan Fisher, as Orpheus. He proved his talent, along with his scene partner, the beautiful Solea Pfeiffer who played Eurydice. Don't even get me started on Betty Who, who played my favorite character- Persephone. Hades did hold his own though, thanks to the talented Phillip Boykin, who should really do more voice work on radio or video games- his deep pitch is iconic.

I also want to give my thanks to the background characters, who added extra flair to the stage with their diversity. The fates were fantastic, and Hermes? That lady is a star in her own right!

I cannot complain about anything with this show, but the seats were very uncomfortable due to how cramped they were. Both visits, I felt squeezed in a box and relying on my friends to lean on to not disturb the other person beside me. For reference, I'm a 5'8 tall woman and one of my friends is considered overweight, and both of us were struggling to be comfortable. On the bright side, there doesn't seem to be a bad spot to get a good view of the stage.

I definitely think my first time had the best seats where a friend got us in front center orchestra, and the second time I bought seats in the orchestra rear right (Row N, Seats 20-22). The photo attached is my view from those seats.

There are bathrooms upstairs, leading to the mezzanine. So, if you'd prefer to be close to them you're best choice would be to sit in the rear left orchestra/front left mezzanine (Women) and the rear right orchestra/front right mezzanine (Men).

You'll like this show if you're a fan of Greek tragedy, love stories, and musicals. If that doesn't appeal to you, then you'll still enjoy the catchy music, set design, and audience reactions to the twists & turns the story follows.

This is a performance that shouldn't be leaving Times Square anytime soon, because it is magnificently told, and I'll probably end up watching it again & again.
