Having seen Hamilton: An American Musical, I couldn't wait to go on this tour. I have to say it was fantastic! Tim, our guide has a plethora of knowledge and inside tips from the set designers and videos from the cast. His stories correlated perfectly with the musical. I loved seeing the actual places where all of it happened. Totally... More

We have now taken all three "Acts" tours and can't wait to come back for the "Hamil-tour". The history learned and the stories heard were fantastic. This is a whole-hearted endorsement and recommendation that every lover of the theatre owes it to themselves to take a BUC tour.

We took the Hamiltour last weekend, despite frigid (20 degree) weather. The tour started right on time (our guide, Tim, and co-guide, Amanda, beat us there!) We ended up going around the block to find them because I can't read directions. [Gist, the meeting spot is a plaza in the back of a building.] Once the tour started, I totally... More

My 17 year old daughter and I came to NYC for a quick mother-daughter theatre trip! We flew in on the day before the blizzard and we wanted to pack our first day with as much as possible in case we were unable to do anything our second day there. I emailed Tim before our plane took off in Toronto... More

Our group was lucky enough to have Molly as our personal tour guide for the Act 1 Broadway tour. She was fantastic... the perfect combination of engaging, enthusiastic, and entertaining. The whole tour was so much fun from start to finish. Can't wait to come back for Act II. Bravo Broadway Up Close!!!

We took the tour just hours before we saw Hamilton. We loved the videos and behind the scenes info from the original cast members and creators of this spectacular show! Tim answered all of our questions and created a great experience that perfectly combined the musical, Hamilton the man, and New York City! Not to mention, great info about what... More

My husband and I had a great tour experience with Molly! We happened to be the only ones on the tour so it was delightfully personalized. It was a very cold and windy day but we all made best of it and Molly kept finding us shelter from the high winds. We were intrigued by all the information about the... More

To anyone who is interested in NYC, Broadway, history, architecture, and (just to ensure I've covered everyone on the planet) ... Hamilton! 🌟 Make sure you book a tour with @broadwayupclose the next time you visit NYC. We just finished our third tour called The Hamiltour. It was fascinating! We walked where history was made in the city, given insights... More

I had done a tour with another concern years ago, visiting fewer theaters, and able to go inside (apparently 9-11 put the kibosh on that), but with this tour actually got more exposure to the architecture. One can appreciate the district so much more, having a knowledgeable person direct your attention to these, often narrow buildings, from across the street.... More

We have been on two of these tours and would highly recommend them for an interesting way to find out more about Broadway. Tim does a great job of being entertaining and combines stories with photos and his own experiences to make the tour a really great time.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
