Very unique subway and/or walking experiences available as part of a guided public tour or guided private tour that is different from most standard guided food tours. We also offer self-guided On Your Own Experiences which are food walk-throughs of various New York neighborhoods and are designed to help save you money over eating in tourist restaurants. Our self-guided On Your Own Experiences can be used as a tour, a list or as a tour first to sample and you can return to your favorites for full meals. Each Experience also includes some low cost breakfast options near major tourist attractions. Our guided tours are true eating tours, not sampling tours and we also offer restaurant recommendations (as noted in many reviews) on our guided tours to help you eat well and save money for the rest of your trip. You choose what you eat and how much. You'll see non-tourist neighborhoods in a relaxed manner and while on the guided tours you will be mingling with others from around the world in a larger group format that is much like a field trip. For those who do want to experience great restaurants and save money we offer our Customized Restaurant Concierge Service. This is a personal service available through by contacting us directly that helps you save and eat great based on your lodging location, attractions you are seeing, food preferences and budget. To experience a culture one must experience their cuisine and since New York is the world's melting pot its many cuisines is its shared culture. Food On Foot Tours takes visitors beyond the tourist attractions to the largest buffet in the world, New York. You'll see the neighborhoods where New Yorkers live and eat. You'll share our passion for all things New York and travel the way New Yorkers do, by subway and foot.

We had a great experience doing this tour, even though it was quite chilly. The food was good and inexpensive for the 2 of us. We spent a total of 3 hours with our tour guide. He was interested in our stories and everyone getting to know each other by mingling. I look forward to doing another tour when we... More

Booked the Food on Foot tour via the New York Explorer Pass. Before you go to the meeting point at Penn Station you are expected to have a metrocard with enough credit for two stops (return trip) as you will be travelling the subway. The tour begins at Penn Station and instructions are given as to where you should meet,... More

We thank the guest for the 4 star review but we feel the guest did not read the ABOUT section of our tours as requested and because of that it is giving a false impression of some things. Our About section clearly states we have both inside and outside stops. Not sure what the guest expected weather wise in March.... More

We had a great time with our tour guide Corey. He was full of good anecdotes, local history and, most importantly, great places for us to eat. Great mixture of styles and food - Italian, Mexican, Greek, etc.

My sister and I had such a fantastic time! We expected a food tour and got even more! In under 3 hours, our tour guide, Cory, took us around New York and imparted his valuable native wisdom and created a fun-filled trip for the group. We ate, we learned, we laughed, and we made friends! Would we join again? Absolutely.... More

The experience was a real delight, The knowledge Corey had about local food was second to none. The food we tried was both authentic and local in some of the most charming eateries on the East side. I took both my Mother and sister on the tour, neither of which are foodies and they still really enjoyed it. Highly recommended... More

We attended Cory's midtown "Food on foot" tour last week. The March weather is cold, but me and my two kids had a great time. The food place he recommended are in-expensive but wonderful. For example, the pizza place he recommended on the tour, my kids insisted going back there 3 more times during our week-long stay in New York.... More

We went on the East Village food on foot tour today and had a great day! Corey was fantastic and happy to share insights into the area. Worth doing early in your visit as he provides recommendations for the remainder of your stay in any area within the city

What an enjoyable way to spend three-plus hours in New York. Cory, who is the owner and guide for Food On Foot, guided our crew through the subway to the East Village and then took us to five places for terrific food; places that a non-New Yorker would find difficult to locate on their own. At each location he gave... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
