A treasure trove of iconic and familiar environs showcased in numerous movies set in NYC, nothing beats walking around it though.

Still a great place to walk around, visit galleries and shops and enjoy the special atmosphere of this former manufacturing area .. over the weekend unfortunately too busy, filled to and above the limits with visitors and tourists ... so avoid Saturday and Sunday

This is NY for the wealthy, posh and those who think that ther are both wealthy and posh. Prices for goods are well above average. Places turn their noses up if you look vaguely normal. Welcomes are reserved for those that splash their cash, Visit her to see how the upper classes of NY behave (or misbehave!).

I was lucky enough to spend four glorious days in New York (was nowhere near enough time!) Id always heard of SoHo and SoMa and thought to myself "what's so interesting about these places?" "what does SoHo mean?" Honestly its literally the area located South of Houston Street but the sheer beauty of the architecture and the rich history is... More

This is a really fun area to walk and explore - not far (about a mile) from World Trade Center. Great shopping and eating. Very energized.

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
