I never knew TriBeCa was an area until I had heard off Robert De Niro's film festival named after the area.

I then did not realise until recently how TriBeCa got it's name and soon I was discovering other New York neighbourhoods like Dumbo, NoHo and SoHo.

TriBeCa is the southern end of Manhattan including the Financial District, Battery Park and the area close to the World Trade Center.

It is an interesting juxtaposition of office blocks, bars, restaurants and residences. Certainly worth exploring for the many sculptures and architecture.

Having been to NYC a couple of times before and knowing too well how crazy the tourist laden area of midtown and Times Square are, I much prefer to spend a morning or afternoon strolling through the streets of lower Manhattan.

TriBeCa is one of those fun neighbourhoods where plenty is happening but your not getting tourists constantly stopping in the middle of the footpaths or groups taking up large areas.

A much calmer escape from the midtown madness!

I was excited to stay in the neighborhood. I want to go with a local next time because I didn’t really see the appeal of the neighborhood on my solo work trip. Had some okay food, but didn’t really feel totally safe walking the streets in the morning. Also didn’t see much in the way of attractions outside of a handful of shops, some restaurants and a few bars.

Love it here at Tribeca, they’ve got a gorgeous doggie Frieda who greets you as you come in. We ordered food for the first time here and it’s a sian cuisine. I got the king prawn Tom yum fried rice and there was about 12 king prawns on my plate! Great portion size, everyone was satisfied. Good music, fair prices. Enjoy.

This is our second trip, staying in TriBeCa. It’s my absolute favourite part of New York. There is a much nicer atmosphere- it’s edgier & cooler than midtown Manhattan & there are far fewer tourists. It has far more character & offers much more than the usual tourist traps. The tourist traps are however just a short walk / subway ride away. Well worth exploring.

We are quite partial to this young and hip neighborhood and visit it often. It is an easy ride for us through the Holland Tunnel. Parking is readily available in public garages, on the weekends if you are lucky - on the street.
We love to come for dinner at the restaurants, that we grew to love over a period of time.

Restaurants such as Bouley, Laconda Verde, Tribeca Grill, Nobu, Bubby's Tribeca, top our list. Just recently added Tamarind restaurant to our favorites.

Hotel Roxy and Greenwich Hotel became our favorites for an overnight stay.

Tribeca is a trendy and chic neiborhood. The parks and the close proximity to the Hudson river make it an easy choice for young professionals and their families.

We enjoyed living here and keep coming back.

This is one of NYC's great little neighborhoods. Its different than midtown and should be on your list of places to visit when you are in NYC. Its where a lot of stars live. Walk around, maybe you will see one.

It's an easy ride in for us in the off hours. Just a few minutes ride after exiting the Holland tunnel takes us to our destination. Coming in for just a day trip visiting with family or more often staying in one of the great hotels for couple of days is something we enjoy.
The neighborhood is safe, lots of young families siting in the restaurants on the outside patios or enjoying the parks. It is a very lively neighborhood especially nice to visit in the summer. Love the boutique stores, pastry shops, great restaurants and parks.
A short walk to the Hudson river provides a nice change of scenery ...and a nice change from the midtown overrun by tourists .

Our favorite neighborhood to come back to when visiting NYC.
Full of great restaurants and cafes, close to parks and the Hudson river.
These days we favor the boutique hotels in the area for our visits to the City...
The journey through the Holland tunnel is easiest for us, so Tribeca is our location of choice most of the time.

I think the neighborhood is the nicest in the spring, when the restaurants open up their outdoor seating and the neighborhood really comes to live.
We will be back again next week ... looking forward to 'Christmas Cheer' in Tribeca...
