Last night we visited the NYC AIDS Memorial.
Architecturally it is one of the more striking memorials I have seen. Once you enter inside a transformation occurs and it is impossible not to feel emotionally moved. The fountain of reflection at the center will trigger many thoughts for those touched by any loss. The Walt Whitman poetry on the ground a final perfect touch. A sobering and dignified memorial.

Met a friend at BEC for breakfast and afterwards stumbled on this Moving AIDS Memorial. In such a busy city it is priceless to recall the fear, hopelessness, and despair the epidemic ushered in. To link that to today's achievements and the work still left. Thank You New York for a priceless memory.

Happened to walk through this when I was on my way to the Strand. Took a moment to remember. With more time, I'd have stayed to drink my coffee.

A smaller park in Greenwich Village that commemorates the lives lost to AIDS. The architecture is beautiful, and there is a decent amount of seating in the park.

I thought it was going to be an indoor museum, filled with more pictures and artifacts but it’s a small memorial park. It’s a simply deign except for the center of it. It was still a humble experience tho, just expected more

From reading the plague the aids memorial is there because there was a hospital on 7th and 12th that closed down and the park where the memorial stands used to be the generators for the hospital.
So in the sale they wanted this a memorial for the gay men and women that had passed away from aids as a memorial.
