Cannot be compared with Central Park, but it is a nice walk next to the Hudson River. Would not recommend in the evening.

We came here to take a boat out to Ellis Island, but we were early enough to wander around and take a look. A bit of construction going on, which probably spoilt the view a little. Just next to the construction site, though, was a...More

We took a break from our bus tour of the city to stop here. It was very refreshing to be near the water. The salt air in our lungs refreshed us and we continued our trip. There are some nearby museums too.

New York City just plants better. And it's very evident at this beautiful water side garden with a jumping fountain and wandering paths on the waterfront of the Hudson River. A fascinating naturescape playground is coming soon. We also adored the Seaglass inside carousel that...More

We sat in the park for over an hour - enjoying the view, reading, sipping coffee from a local vendor. There are multiple seating areas so you can be as alone or in the mix as you desire.

Only saw a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty. Weather was too bad. So I got a really nice Hot Dog from the cart at the end of West St and sat down eating it. Enjoying the view of One World Tower.

Just another park called Battery...and here I was looking for the elusive Energizer Bunny only to stumble onto the ferry to my one true love, Lady Liberty who, by the way, is looking great for her age!!!

The only reason to visit is if you want to see the Statue of Liberty, but the view isn't that good and a boat trip is quite essential for a better view.

We enjoyed our visit to Battery Park. We purchased our lunch at a vendor on the street (Nathan's) and took it to the park to sit and relax and enjoy everything there. So glad we did. There is a LOT to see and do there....More

Financial District
At the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the Financial
District is where New York City began as a center of
commerce. Today, the historic streets and beautiful
setting are complemented by museums, countless
skyscrapers, and the heart of the Financial District,
home to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange.
Catch the Staten Island Ferry for an unbeatable view
of the skyline and Statue of Liberty, or sail to Ellis

No problem with them. It is an open park. There is a security check at Statue of Liberty ferry.
