    It's the Metropolitan Opera!!!
Thus far this season (as of December 2023) we've seen La Boheme and The Magic Flute and have tix for CARMEN in January and Madame Butterfly in March. Breaking news: You don't have to love OPERA to love opera. You do have to love live full orchestra music, a spectacular production, and the magic of one of the premier performance venues Lincoln Center. People from all over the world come to New York for these productions. Select a popular opera. Listen to the music and read the story before you go. And be prepared to be enthralled.

Fabulous opera last North La forca del Destino great opera, fabulous orchestra, tremendous performance In an older do
The opera experience is very personal but last nights performance was clearly gur me one of the best I have heard in 40 years. Seguin had the orchestra on their best notes and the brilliantly edited polish script was novel and well received. Several new stars have been launched and the audience in an opening night were appreciative with rounds of applause and whistles etc The hall itself could use some needed revamping as usual noted many old patchy doors that have prevailed many years. It still was awe I souring and although the votives have risen a special night there is the ultimate nyc experience .

    Wow!
A life long New Yorker this was my first opera, I saw Puccini's Turandot and wow. The energy of the Met was palpable, the architecture of the building was stunning. What an amazing experience. Cannot recommend enough.

    Beautiful
We had a wonderful time at the opera. There are drinks for purchase when you walk in. But you must finish them before you go into the auditorium area. The box seats are a little bit confusing to find and once you get there they are very small. Aside from that though they are relatively comfortable. The theater is beautiful. All of the musicians did a wonderful job.

We went to see Madame Butterfly. It's a whole experience. The people, the place, the atmosphere, the opera itself. Recommended for opera lovers and non lovers! It's a must!

I cannot describe how much I enjoyed the performance of Turandot, the sets were spectacular, the performances were amazing, and the venue was beautiful. We WILL return.

Sluggish orchestra… empty seats everywhere … Puccini sets straight outta 1980. Disappointing… Paris and London the week before were in another league.

The Metropolitan Opera is one of the most well known. It first opened back in the late 19th century! Amazing building inside.

We had seats toward the back of the orchestra and I had been concerned about sound but there were no issues at all. Bought season tickets. It’s a wonderful experience and not to be missed.
