Well I have to say I was very surprised by the whole thing. I was very apprehensive about what was my first ever trip to the opera, but afterwards, I have to say it was very enjoyable. The 'Met' is a fabulous venue for any live performance, an amazing theater in the center of NYC. The performance of 'La Boheme'... More

We booked tickets for Manon Lescaut several months ago. Anna Netrebco was advertised as singing all performances. However, she did not sing and the woman who replaced her did not have the voice for this part.. In addition the Met took this beautiful 1830s period piece and re-set it in the 1940s. It did not work at all. We were... More

Had always wanted to visit the met, so this was a real treat. Went to see Aida, a firm favourite. Wasn't disappointed, well apart from the consumptive hausfrau next to us who coughed and spat into her handbag throughout the performance , but that's live art I suppose. The sets were suitably over the top. Very impressive radames with excellent... More

The production is amazing. Everything from the performers and the animals to the costumes and the sets. The experience is breathtaking. It is extremely expensive but if it is within your means, oh so worth it.

We have enjoyed annual trips to New York for the last five years, with a visit to the Met being a highlight. This year was no different and the performance, was, as always, up to the highest standard, both musically and production wise. Whilst we regularly attend live broadcasts in our home City, there truly is nothing quite to match... More

The Met Never disappoints. The sets and amount of people they fit on the stage are mind blowing. This opera had multiple moving sets and they were cleverly used. I love going to the opera. There is nothing like Lincoln center. It will take your breath away.

The settings are true works of art. The operatic talent is world class. What's not to love? If you want a behind the scenes look at how an opera is produced, I highly recommend the opera tour, held at 3:00pm weekdays when the Met is in season (and at 10:30am and 1:30pm on Sundays), reservations required. You will get to... More

I have been at great opera houses all over the world such as Florence Italy, Paris and Buenos Aires these were wonderful opera houses with glorious voices and productions but was I disappointed last night after paying $1000 for 2 tickets in the 9th row center orchestra. The seats were creepy and worn out the acoustics were terrible and the... More
