Very impressive cathedral, we stumbled upon it during a wedding taking place so it was very full but still maintained a peaceful aura inside its confines. The facade is truly stunning at night all lit up.

The cathedral is open to all for five minutes or for services. The interior is imposing and massive. The stained glass windows are so beautiful. Take a break from the opulence of NYC and reset yourself for a bit. It's worth the time to stop in.

Such a gorgeous building both inside and out. Services take place on a regular basis and you can join the congregation. Alternatively you can stand at the back or light a candle in memory of a loved one. Stained glass windows are a sight to behold.

The architecture here is a must see. It is spectacular and very quiet and peaceful. After walking around the city for several hours this was a great place to just sit and relax.

This is an 'open' church which allows access at all times. There are numerous chapels within the cathedral allowing worshippers to select a chapel of choice. The normal functions of the church go on undisturbed by the visitors also allowing public access to any of the numerous services. This place is a haven of peace.

You wouldn't imagine this beautiful Cathedral is in the middle of New York City. Worth a visit. A great place to reflect. You can light candles and say prayers for loved ones for a small donation.

The cathedral is a must-see historical structure. Stop by to admire the magnificent architecture. Gape at gorgeous stained glass windows. Walk around to see the chapels and side altars. Make a donation, light a candle, and say a prayer. Remember you are in a place of worship. For some people, the cathedral is a refuge from the elements. This realization... More

This cathedral is awe-inspiring. It is very large and absolutely gorgeous. There are numerous places throughout the cathedral to light candles and say a prayer. I must see when visiting the city.

I only stopped in St. Patrick's Cathedral briefly and said a quick prayer. It is a very beautiful church, the architecture is awe-inspiring and to me seemed a friendly lace of worship, that still allows open access to tourists.

Beautiful interior. Exterior is fantastic, this Neo-Gothic Cathedral is set amongst the jumble of modern buildings, facing Rockefeller Center. It is well worth the visit if you find yourself at the Rock!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
