Excellent smallish treatre on West 44th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. We saw “Death of a Salesman” in December 2022….a wonderful recasting of an Arthur Miller classic. Seats are OK in width and leg room, optional masking policy (we wore ours) and most helpful staff. Easy to find as the theatre is one of the more “western” sites of the Broadway area and plays. Highly recommend you get there 30 minutes ahead of time…..makes it much more low stress. Give it a try; terrific theatre.

Small-ish theater, with two balcony levels. Very steep, but that means you’ve got great views. We saw American Utopia up in the top balcony with our 10 year old and we all had perfect views. Amazing show, really great sound, cozy feel. Clean restrooms, perfectly friendly staff and lines not too long. IF you’re up in the balcony, they do keep you closed up in the bar area if you get there early, as they say they are still “readying the stage for the show,” but that was fine. There are a few bars in the theater to buy the typically expensive drinks. But I would definitely see another show in this space and not worry about where I sit. Possibly the extreme sides of the theater, might not have the best views but that’s also to be expected. If you need to use the ladies room, choose the ones on the side, and not in the bar. The lines are shorter or non-existent. Great place overall.

I had one of my most amazing theater experiences here seeing Death of a Salesman last week. The show, perfection. The seats and view and acoustics, amazingly amazing. The only issue I had was with a few members of the audience.
I don't live in NYC so I don't know how common this is, but at least 4 groups came in between 5-15 minutes late to the show. Also, the person next to me continually took out her phone with the light shining. The same group beside me purchased popcorn at intermission and consumed it loudly during the final scenes.
This all might do at a raucous musical, however this play included vital sections of silence and sound and audio nuances and I was so disappointed in people for a, not respecting that and b, taking me at times out of the show in which I otherwise would have been completely immersed.
I write this only because I think the theater could do something to remedy some of these behaviors. The personnel stressed turning off phones before the show but those arriving late missed it. Maybe latecomers should get an etiquette speech before entering. Maybe re-think selling popcorn or any food at intermission for certain productions.

I went to see David Byrne's American utopia at the Hudson and enjoyed the show so much I had to go again.
The theatre is quite small, lending it a cosy, friendly atmosphere. It was comfortable and the lighting, view and acoustics were all good.
There was virtually no queuing at the bar and everything seemed well managed.
What a great venue.

Went to go see Dollhouse. Managed to get lucky with TodayTix and the seats we were given were in the circle section righthand side. For this production, we didn't feel like we missed out on much, though it does cut off a chunk of stage left. No high hideous sidebar in the way like London theatres. Seats were comfortable, leg room was fine. Staff was quite entertaining pre-show with encouraging people to use toilets and turn off phones. There was no break in this show, so can't comment on much else. Thought the staff was perhaps a little too strict with the 'no things on the balcony' - I get that cups and phones etc. can be dangerous, but we almost got our head bitten off by resting our ticket on it. The play was good, though nothing groundbreaking.

The Theater is an old historical building close to Time Square beautifully furnished. The staff is friendly and it is clean. We watched Plaza Suite with Sarah J. Parker and Matthew Broderick they were hilarious the play was very entertaining. You can easily find a good spot to the stage in the whole seating area - great acoustic too. Experience of a lifetime.

Located in the theater district, it's very easy to walk to id you are staying in Time Square. The play was wonderful. My seats were great. Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick were the characters. This theather serves drinks if you wish to enjoy while enjoying this fabulous presentation.

Beautiful theater and Death of a Salesman was absolutely amazing! The seats were pretty comfy (especially after having been in MSG the previous night). Our seats in dress circle allowed for a good view of the stage.
My only complaint is that there weren't enough bartenders or bathroom stalls to keep the lines short. It was almost impossible to both go to the restroom AND get a drink/snack during the intermission.

My husband and I took a last minute parents only trip to NYC. I was excited to come and see the Plaza Suite Show. The show was great! We enjoyed the cocktails while watching the great SJP and Matthew put on a fantastic show. We purchased a tshirt and mug as gifts. After the show we took some pictures outside the theater and to our joyous surprise we caught SJP leaving. She was so kind and friendly, she wasn’t able to stop or sign anything but she said Hi and waved. I would totally recommend the show if your in NYC.

Wonderful theatre. I have attended several times over the years and was recently there in December 2023. Every show I have seen at the Hudson Theatre has been excellent. Such a beautiful place, well organised, and lovely staff.

Is there a promo code to purchase tickets online? Is the $23 service fee charged at the box office as well as online?
