Scott's Pizza Tours runs public and private tours of New York's vast pizza landscape by bus and on foot. Every tour stops at multiple pizzerias, each highlighting a different phase in the evolution of the dish from its humble beginnings as a street snack to its current position as New Yorkers' food of choice. This was just a great tour. I gave it to my husband as a gift, and I struck gold. Scott is unbelievable, witty, personably and so very smart, he knows everything about pizza making, sauces, varieties, and makes the day a blast, complete strangers come together for a fabulous experience. We are native New Yorkers and would go again to... More

We had a fantastic time on this tour! We have done a heap of different food, and pizza specific, tours in NYC, but Scott's was a standout! We started out in Little Italy at Lombardi's, and then spent the rest of our day travelling to different spots in Brooklyn. Scott was a fantastic guide, ridiculously entertaining and really knows his... More

I cannot say enough good things about this tour! It was incredible. Scott is a gifted man, his love of pizza and his ability to entertain a crowd were immediately evident and unwavering throughout our 4 hour excursion. Scott taught us so much about pizza, the temperature of the ovens, the different types of ovens, the myth of Queen Margherita...need... More

Scott is so knowledgable on pizza !!!! I expected simply eating pizza and some good hosting. What I got was great pizza a heap of real information on history and pizza styles and a fun day. If you have ever done a winery tour or wine tasting - imagine the same concept with pizza but lots of fun ! Highly... More

We love taking tours with experienced, local tour guides. Our Sunday Bus Tour with Scott was one of the best we have ever had! We hit the lottery when we realized we were fortunate enough to have THE Scott of Scott's Pizza Tours as our guide! He was young and saucy instead of being old and crusty. In addition, Scott's... We were among the only locals on this tour, but we had a blast learning more about our city's signature food and the history surrounding it. Our guide was Joe, who is high-energy, genuinely passionate about and well-versed in the history of pizza, and gave us context about what neighborhoods we were walking through in light of the Italian communities,... It was our 1st time taking a Pizza tour and Scott's in New York City is surely the place to start. Our guide was Scott himself who does know his Pizza! He helps you understand how it's made, the history of the New York Pizza, & so many interesting fun facts I couldn't have asked for more. It was a... More

I took the Brooklyn dinner tour last Saturday and was delighted to find that Scott himself was my guide. What that man doesn't know about pizza isn't worth knowing! I'm a major pizza fan but Scott takes things to another level. He tailors the tour to the requirements of the day's guests, so don't be backwards in coming forwards with... More

This tour was given to me as a gift. An absolutely fantastic time was had! Mike was a great guide. And the choice of pizza styles and locations...along with all of the history, science, and art of creating one of my favorite dishes...made for great fun and a compelling afternoon with my sons. Like the pizza itself, this tour does... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
