The area has lots of clubs and high end shops now but just doesn't have much that I really care to do. It's nice to walk or ride thru but not a place I care to hang out.

There are loads of restaurant / pubs / bars and clubs in this neighborhood. Perfect place to spend an evening with friends for bar hopping and clubbing. Very lively area.

We walked through here a couple of times and it’s full of bars and restaurants, so this would be a good place for a bar crawl. You can also start/end the High line here which is a lovely walk and not too long.

I'd suggest staying away from eating or drinking in the area unless you're into the club type atmosphere. There are a few good dining exceptions though. Shopping is plenty though on the higher end. It's nice to walk through the neighborhood.

Say goodbye to the meat packing and the old danger in this formerly dicey area. It's now chock-a-block with high-end designer stores and expensive restaurants. Total transformation.

Nest to the high-line, The standard rooftop bar, Chelsea pears, Greenwich village, west village and Soho. u can spend a whole day down here and not see or do it all. In fact you can spend a week here and find something new each day!

Use mass transit. It can be awful to walk in the hot summer all those city blocks. You can rent a bicycle.
