- lizPuerto de la Duquesa, Spain2 contributionsGetting in is poorThe rink was great and very reasonable. However the organisation to try and get in was awful. No one knew what was going on and no instructions. Very stressful trying to get in people pushing in. Much better entry is needed. Still enjoyable after all stressVisited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 4 December 2022
- anthony bAberdeen, United Kingdom115 contributionsAmazing location - make sure and book first though! We turned up on Saturday morning to find the day was sold out (5000 tickets sold each day) so booked for the Sunday. Was told gates open at 0930 and skating starts at 1000. We turned up at 0945 and took until 1100 to get in. Queue was a little chaotic. People pushing in. Make sure to complete the waiver before you go. Once in the skate hire area it was very busy. Rink was great, ice good quality, skates were okay (seen better days). Once you got in then they didn't limit time on the ice. Watch out for when the Zamboni is scheduled as the ice closes for 30 mins. Food selection okay. Given it's amazing location this is a venue well worth spending time at - you don't get any more iconic views from an ice rink!Visited December 2022Written 14 December 2022
- storm082199 contributionsStaff took the shine off.I booked online for a specific date and time. Which was easy enough to do. On arrival you have to complete an accident waiver unless you are not permitted to enter. You also must prove you have had an confirmatory email then a wrist band is given. The man on the line for skates was rude and very dismissive. I had my confirmation of skates as a screen shot, he wanted to genuine email and I was made to step out of the line until it was found. It was like I’d offered him. Or he didn’t like tourists. Staff on the ice just skated as fast as the could unbalancing others and making grooves on the ice. Outside seating could do with heaters. Beautiful views of the city. £110 for 3 people. Overall lovely rink but staff could do with some customer care skills.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 17 December 2022
- cll02Sheffield, United Kingdom25 contributionsNot what we expectedUnorganised chaos. Stress full when should be a nice experience. Staff not helpful. Lockers are not the easiest and no tourist knew what they were doing with them. On a plus note the ice was nice and it's pretty big. The views are great. All in all doesn't give the wow factor.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 17 December 2022
- JimBelfast, United Kingdom32 contributionsFantastic MemoryReading below reviews we must have been lucky. Went here last week, Wednesday morning and arrived at around 1030am. Just paid on arrival and completed the waiver in the queue which was literally 5 minutes long. Didn’t pre book as wanted to see how busy it was on arrival. Got the skates no issues and away we went. Great experience with not a big crowd. Had to vacate the ice for 30 minutes which was a pity for it to be smoothed over again however when waiting you can have a coffee and you can more or less stay as long as you want as far as I can see. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars is charging $25 to hire a plastic skating assistance for a 7 year old is a bit ott considering it had already cost me $130 for skating for an adult and 3 children. Plus I didn’t know I had to do this before I got to the ice so had to go back and spend more money. I also had to give it back when the ice was being sorted which would mean hiring again thereafter. That’s a rip off tbh albeit Rockefeller is more expensive and a quarter of the size and Bryant Park was packed. Overall though probably the highlight of the trip to New York.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 20 December 2022
- Deby BCheddleton, United Kingdom85 contributionsSkating cancelled, refund issued promptlyUnfortunately our skating was cancelled due to very heavy rainfall, we were unable to rebook for another day as it was the end of our trip. I e mailed the rink and requested a refund and have had confirmation that a refund has been issued, thank you. If ever we are back in NYC we will be sure to rebook.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 December 2022
- F1Mum2017Worcester, United Kingdom23 contributionsChristmas Day VisitBooked as family of four for Christmas Day. Getting in was very stressful due to the queues, completing waver, ice skating rental is on a separate ticket to be shown alongside booking ticket( some people had forgot they needed to book ice skates which delayed their entrance). The rink is cleared regularly ( every 90 mins) so people would have just got on the rink & then be told to get off again. You receive an email on the day which comes a little to late but is very informative & our top tip is to read it carefully especially regarding waver. Also queue at least an hour earlier than your booking time as just because you booked at 13:99 hrs does not mean you will get in at that time. If you have anything booked after the ice skating leave many hours between. You can get a locker to put your belongings in & is about $ 7 dollars or £6. Once you are on the ice it is magical & the children loved it. Great memories if you can get over the stress beforehand !!Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 30 December 2022
- brianminshew59 contributionsLong linesHave two lines, one for ticketed people, non ticketed. More signage at entranceway letting people know what's being scanned. Eg. Waiver, tickets, rental QR. Reserved times should be just that, don't get in line if you aren't scheduled in next hour. Same line for everyone regardless of time basically since took so long to get in. We stood in line from 11 to 12, stood in another line for skates. Finally made it to the rink around 12:25 only to get off at 12:30 for Ice prep. Ran out of penguin rentals. Not a well oiled machine for the price.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 30 December 2022

- Clairemcharris63 contributionsNot a very warm welcome! So the concept is great, it’s such a pretty place and obviously a bucket list thing to do when you’re visiting NYC. However, the staff are as miserable as sin (apart from a lovely gentlemen that showed us where to go, and a lovely lady behind the kiosk that advised me about the frames for kids to hold onto). Honestly, the rest of the staff clearly don’t want to be there and are just miserable and rude. Myself and my husband took our 11 year old daughter. Only one of us was allowed to supervise her, so my husband had to sit outside and watch from a far (or pay an entrance fee even though he wasn’t skating). Lovely place to be, just spoiled by the atmosphere and blatant rip off prices.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 22 February 2023

We booked to go ice skating before our trip, was easy to book.
We had booked for 7pm, but I had expected a better signposted / well-lit path in Central Park. Myself and daughter had to use google maps to find it!
I had noticed about an hour before we went that you had to sign a waiver, would be better if this was emailed out to anyone who has purchased tickets.
I had deliberately not taken a bag so we wouldn't need a locker, but they don't store your shoes when they give you your skates - you have to get a locker which cost $7!!
It wasn't busy and I had seen the ice cut schedule was 7.30pm but this didn't happen!
I fell and seriously hurt my shoulder (which I know is a risk) but no staff came to help me at all. As it continued to hurt I went to an office to ask if I could have an ice pack for my shoulder, I was taken to a room (right opposite where I fell ) where the girl said oh are you the lady that just fell over! She didn't even look at my shoulder, gave me some ice in a glove and some packets of ibruprofen. The next day I realised the expiry date on them was 07/23!!
Maybe not the best place to skate, but it was bigger than Bryant Park and not everywhere was open during our visit.

We stopped in during walk in Central Park. Pickle Ball was being played and the staff got us in on Community Play. It was a lot of fun. They also got us set up in a clinic. Staff was great.

STAFF ARE DISGUSTING!! Rude, nasty, miserable and clearly from the BAD side of NY! They looked like they hated the job and life in general 🤣 I will pray for you guys 🙏🏼
Anyway enough about the skanky crew….
Brilliant memory and had lots of fun while on the ice loads of fab pics and laughter ❄️⛸️💕

This was our best memory from our holiday. This rink is better than the Rockefeller rink as it seems bigger and not as busy. We did however find the staff rude and they seemed more interested in having conversations between themselves than doing their jobs. The skates need new laces as they are hard to tie up as they are frayed. It did seem disorganised to get in as you had to fill in a waiver and the staff member just kept shouting to fill them in and then she didn’t even check them all anyway when she shouted that she had to see everyone’s. However we would definitely return to make more memories.

I went there Sunday march 12 with a couple of friends and as soon as I steeped to the front door me and my friends we were profiled by the security guard who looks like a Spanish dude , I ended up buying a ticket and couldn’t even get my refund for the ticket so we all left . That guy should get fired .

I was one day going to consider renting ice skates in the season to use this rink, but Anthony and his fellow employees refuse to let the public use the bathroom.
You're operating an ice rink in a public park operated and owned by the Central Park conservancy, not a museum. How hard is it to say yes to use what is 100% a public restroom. Gross violation of ADA law there which requires unrestricted access to all restrooms free of charge.

We visited NYC in February and this was on my wish-list for my Birthday. I had been deciding between the Rockefeller or Wollman and was so pleased we chose this one - it is much bigger (the Rockefeller Rink looked tiny in comparison) and it is beautifully situated with the skyline behind. The boot hire side of things all worked well, as did using a locker for our belongings. It was lovely being out on the ice and I am in awe of those people
who can skate properly as it is not easy. A great memory from my NYC trip.

We have been skating at Wollman rink for many years. We had the absolute worst experience this year. As much as it pains me to say this, this place was running far better under the Trump organization. Regardless of what time your ticket is for, the lines can be super long and you can have to wait over an hour just to get in. There is no limit to how long you can stay once you’re in. The check-in process is unnecessarily chaotic and you have to sign a dumb waiver while physically standing on line. This could easily be done online when you buy the ticket. The staff was rude. The skates are in horrible shape with frayed laces. It costs everyone $25 just to get in. This is regardless of if you are skating or just watching. The former reduced spectator fee is gone, so if you just want to watch your child skate, you’ll have to pay full price. The skate rental fee is $10. Worst of all is something new they have called Premier Pass which was supposed to be an upscale experience with warm beverages, etc. In reality, it is a pop-up tent with almost no amenities and staff that is either not there or is there hanging out with other staff members. This area costs $30 PLUS $25 admission even if you’re not skating. DO NOT BUY THIS. it is a blatant money grab. It is sad what new management has done to this place. Come here just to take pictures if you want but go elsewhere to skate! We won’t be coming back any time soon.

Do you rent skates for a 3 year old child?

Myself and my son are spending Christmas in NYC and we would like to come here on christmas day. Im wondering what peoples experience of this has been in the past? Can we just turn up on the day or would you recommend buying slightly inflated tickets off for example viator to ensure we get on the ice that day. Hoping to go lunchtime... thanks for any help.

We did go there on the weekend and were able to enter without any queue or anything. Do not think that any advance reservations are needed, especially if they are pricey .

Coming in February and looking to skate with my girlfriend was wondering if you need to be a confident skater to use this rink?
Thanks in advance
