There was just not enough time to see and appreciate the many magnificent works of art. It took us all day to race through the exhibits on the first floor. Oceania exhibits were particularly interesting for the intricate designs on mundane items. BTW, the American Wing Cafe has tasty food, is relatively inexpensive, and overlooks Central Park.

We did an early morning tour before the museum was open to the public. Was an hour and a half, would have been better if it had been two hours. Very informative, small group. Spent many hours after the tour to explore by ourselves. Will be back

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, is like a world trip experience without the airfare expense. The museum is set out really well, and one exhibition room lead into the next. Sadly we didn't have time to view all exhibition rooms, but we covered a large area and each room was worth the lingering and appreciating. There is an offer of... More

So huge that most people will find something of interest here. Many famous paintings a lot will recognise and the ancient Egyptian exhibits are fascinating.

Great museum. But you should know that even though admission includes The Cloisters, The Cloisters are not near the MET museum, you need to take the subway. Therefore, it would be difficult to do both museums in 1 day. The MET is very vast and the Cloisters take at least 2 hours to look around without rushing. The subway ride... More

I had a few hours to kill and I have tried to like museums in NY. This one was a winner. I opted for the audio tour and it was amazing. The Museum director has a special tour for both levels and it takes you through a great journey. This museum can take all day, but a specific guided tour... More

An unbelievable place. Only had about and hour and a half here unfortunately. Will definitely go back some day and spend at least a day. Phenomenal array of amazing art on display, I imagine you could wander around for days on end. Wonderful experience and a must-see in New York

There is just so much to see that you could spend multiple days poking around. We had a great afternoon enjoying the many different pieces of art and artifacts.

We visit the MET every year and have our favorite areas to go to. Such as the Impressionists and the American Wing. This Museum is amazing. You can pay full price suggested or pay a donation. The special shows are hit or miss. Not too crazy about the shows that are there now in February. That is why we end... More
