    Large collection, disorganized at times
This museums basically spans thousands of years, and if you have a particular interest in something you can find a lot of things you'd like. A small downside of the Met is that there's no particular focus to the museum as a whole, and for visitors/tourists the museum can get too overwhelming. The most appropriate audience, I think, would be researchers or students.

    World Class Art Museum
This is a must see museum if you are visiting NYC. There are so many beautiful treasures and works of art. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and each time I visit I find something new. My favorite areas are the period rooms, the American Wing and the 19th century European paintings.

    Amazing!!
Amazing. Our kids didn’t want to go. Then they made us go back a second day. Still didn’t get to spend near enough time there. I will def unitedly be going back. Impressive. Don’t skip it. Better than the other museums.

    Take a tour!
We've been to the museum many times. This time we took a highlight tour with Alan. What an amazing experience! He took us to a handful of personally selected varied pieces and beautifully described the history, significance, artist, and interesting arcana. He engaged our imagination and encouraged questions. It opened up the museum in a personal and memorable way. We will definitely take a tour on future visits. Thank you Alan for your memorable tour!

Excellent guided tour of the Met Museum of Art
took the "European Paintings" guided tour with Alan, an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, interesting, friendly and professional, He had an enormous fund of knowledge and put the art and history together in a way that was accessible to all of our educational levels. I will certainly take more Met tours with him and his colleagues.

Book beforehand and plan ahead- great museum
Was on a 2 hour tour of the highlights of the museum. We saw the best things of the museum, and the museum is huge. A good idea to go early if you want to avoid the crowds, and make a plan beforehand; what do you want to see? Because it is so huge, you are going to skip some parts. The giftshop is good, and the museum didn’t dissapoint.

Need longer that the time you have
Just amazing. Need a week here to see much more than we saw. Pity you cannot per purchase tickets, waiting in line for 45 minutes was a pain. A good few galleries were closed so check that out in advance.

Definitely worth a visit or two or more !!
My wife and I enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend. I am sure we could return several more times and not see everything of interest. The museum is huge and I would recommend focusing on the portions of high interest and saving the rest for another visit. The collections are truly world class.

High fashion by Lagerfeld worth a visit!
We went to this year’s Costume Institute annual exhibit and thought it was one of the best of recent years. Karl Lagerfeld was a fashion giant and “A Line of Beauty” is a stunning collection of his gowns, dresses, and suits over many decades! He designed for Chanel and Fendi and also his own studio. He was a talented sketcher and extremely versatile in his designs, adopting elements from the trends of the times. There are classic black gowns and suits, elaborate white wedding dresses, and some funky designs that are militaristic or incorporate items of pop-art. See Lagerfeld’s sketches for some gowns adds to the interest. Even my spouse, who was only going to do part of it, stayed to the end. And the Met’s use of a virtual queue meant that we didn’t stand in a long line to enter that space!

So Much Art, So Little Time
So much to see at the museum. Staff very helpful and ticketing well organized. We went for a special exhibit, which is timed and you sign up on your phone. Lots and lots of galleries of lovely paintings and sculptures. They give a senior discount.

Overcrowded with students. There was a chain of school buses parked outside the Met when i arrived. Inside, students galore. It was noisy, and chaotic. Walkways were jammed with students loitering. Overall, a disappointing experience. Left within an hour.

The Met has to be one of the best museums in the world. The variety of collections is tremedous, there is something there for everyone. I have been there several times and never tire of seeing the beautiful impressionist paintings. You could easily spend a whole day an only see half of what is there.

Spent about 5 hours at the museum including a guided tour and could've spent at least a couple more days. There is too much to see in one visit, so I recommend having a plan and prioritizing your favorites.

Fine Arts! The structure of the museum is incredible, it looks like something from a movie. I loved visiting, it was worth the trip.

This is an impressive museum. The downside was having paid $60 entry and just under $50 for a light lunch we were told it is a dollar fifty for a hot water refill of the cup of tea. I also had to ask twice for a ‘plastic’ for my sparkling water.

We loved getting lost in its galleries – there's something for everyone. Sure, the Egyptian artifacts are famous, but we were surprised by the awesome collection of musical instruments and the rooms full of fancy period furniture. Even during a busy day, the place had a surprisingly chill vibe. Definitely worth spending a whole day exploring!

We arrived at 10 in the morning when they opened and left at 5 in the evening when they closed. And after 7 hours, we still didn’t see everything. And this was with the Africa galleries closed (which are always our favorite and where we spend the most time). You can clearly do a “highlights” tour, but if you love museums, this has it all.
