Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

    21st Birthday
From start to finish this was excellent. It was a cold but sunny psi the views were superb. All the staff were friendly. My daughter was wearing a Birthday Girl headband and everyone wished her a Happy Birthday. Stayed up there for an hour enjoying the views . We went at 9.30am so it was not busy .
We're so glad you had a great family birthday experience with us! Thanks for taking the time to review us and we hope you come back again soon.

    Great night time experience
We decided to go at night having been to the Empire State in the day. Great views and the staff are friendly and efficient. The lobby is also well worth a look around to see the Art Deco style.
Thanks for this wonderful review! Glad you enjoyed it at night, it's incredible to see the Empire State Building all lit up. We hope to welcome you back soon.

    Unique Place!!!
The outside of the building in so "New York"! Loved seeing the golden structure- I remember the huge Christmas tree from a previous visit. Great place to see iconic fashion names on the store fronts! Perfect place to see people from around the world congregate at this point in NYC!!! Love it!
We're so glad you enjoyed your visit! Thanks for the taking the time to leave this review and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Awesome Top of the Rock experience
We got entry via GoCity app and just popped in as we were walking passed - no real queueing and visit was well organised. The top was not too busy despite it being mid-afternoon over the Easter weekend. Lots of room at the top and got some great views across Manhattan
We're so glad you a smooth visit! Thanks for taking the time to leave this review and we hope to welcome you back soon.

    Art Deco splendour
This was the free bit that made the trip up the Top of the Rock worth while. Magnificent Art Deco architecture, with fine accompanying murals and statuary and a small, but attractive water garden, well planted. (Noticeable how much less floriferous New York is than London).
Thank you for spending some time with us and leaving this lovely review! We hope to welcome you back soon!

Pleasant location to sit and relax and grab a bite to eat.
Just a beautiful place to sit and relax as you are a block or two off the hustle and bustle of Times Square. During the winter, this is where the giant Christmas Tree and ice skating are located. In the summer, the ice rink is converted to a roller rink. ( about 45-70$ to rent skates and time in the rink ) Fun to just grab a soft drink or food from the food court located on the rink level - and people watch .
Thank you for leaving this wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoy spending time at Rockefeller Center and we hope you visit us again soon.

Iconic and not to be missed.
As folks who come to New York a number of times and stay at a hotel nearby a visit to Rockefeller Center is always a must. You don’t have to look hard to find a great photo opportunity. It’s an iconic spot no one visiting New York should ever miss, it’s beautiful in any season but a couple of visits around the holidays were incredibly breathtaking. Who can resist the decorations snd the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Of course I stopped in FAO Swartz for a bit of nostalgia. Who could resist, right?
We're so glad you took the time to visit us! Thank you for taking the time to leave this thoughtful review and we hope to welcome you back next time you are in town.

    Urban Design at Its Best
Each time I am in NY I make a visit to the Rock. This is urban design at its best. Everything is so harmonious in design, the buildings, the fountains, the art and sculpture. And it functions well, as evidenced by the throngs who come here to skate, eat, shop, hang out, plus all of the workers. Manhattan at its best.
We couldn't agree more! Thank you for this very thoughtful post and we can't wait to welcome you back.

    Amazing views.
Amazing views. No waiting at all, but make sure to go there early in the morning (we went there at 10am). Would recommend Rockefeller observation deck instead of Empire State Building (only half the price, less people, great views to Central Park and Empire State Building).
Thank you for this wonderful review! Excellent advice for future visitors, as well. We hope to welcome you back soon!

    Rockefeller Center!
Well worth a visit if in NYC. We took a leisurely stroll around the Rockefeller Center whilst visiting 'Top Of The Rock' observatory deck. (see separate review) Beautiful Art Deco, history, architecture, murals and water feature/garden. Tastefully presented with great photo opportunities.
Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear you had a great time at Rockefeller Center. We hope to see you again soon!

Only knocked one star off because it was pretty pricey but it was so much fun!

There was music, lights being projected onto the ice, it wasn’t too busy and overall a great atmosphere.

You can only got down to get your skates 5-10 mins before your slot then there are lockers to put your shoes and belongings into (combination lock so no coins required).

It was really mild when we were skating but the ice was cleaned regularly so it never got too slushy or wet.

You get given a coloured sticker which shows which skating slot you’re in and when your time is up your sticker colour gets called off the ice.

Overall well organised and a family with two young children we would 100% do again!

Excellent one hour walking tour with a very engaging and clever guide. He pointed out many interesting sites that we never would have noticed on our own, and kept up a constant patter as we walked the streets. The headsets made it possible to hear him clearly. (English only). At the end of the tour we were able to buy tickets separately to go to the top of 30 rock, which was excellent as well. We highly recommend this tour.

I had to see the Christmas tree when I was here in December because I grew up seeing the tree in different movies.

They took from my credit card 166$ and didn't refund the money. They don't answer emails. Worst experience ever. Dishonest behaviour

We were staying at a friend's apartment in NYC while they were gone. Our friend was telling us about places to see and go. He said, "don't go to the Rockefeller Center, it's super crowded". One of the days here, while walking about we unintentionally came upon the Radio City Music Hall. 50th Street next to is was closed to traffic and packed with pedestrians. What's going on, we thought. Without intending to do so, we came upon Rockefeller Center. Yes it was super crowded, but we managed to see everything we wanted to see there. Saw the big Christmas tree, skating rink, and all the other sights... blah, blah, blah. We later went to Bryant Park, much more fun there.

I’ve been here a few times for different reasons, but this trip I wanted to stop by and see the Christmas tree while it’s still up in early January. It’s absolutely gorgeous! We stopped by later in the evening after seeing a show (and it was raining) so it was pretty cleared out. Definitely a sight to see if you’ve never seen it!

It was full of amazing sites. The experience was absolutely stunning. The only downside was the large group of disorganized people. There was a lot of pushing and shoving. Once I was able to get to the line for my photo and skating I was all smooth from there.

The Rockerfeller Plaza is quite grand. Located on Fifth Avenue it is the home to NBC and they have a number of studios where you can watch TV shows being recorded. You can also visit their gift shop and get a souvenir from some of their current shows as well as some from the past.

There is also a branch of FAO Schwarz here where you can buy a gift for your younglings. One thing they have is a giant piano on the floor so you can recreate the scene from the movie "Big". Don't forget to take your shoes off!

There is a really nice open space outside the front of the building and there is a giant sculpture of Atlas with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

It's definitely a place worth checking out for some architectural grandeur.

This is usually a fave among both tourists and natives during the holidays. As long time person living here, I try to make the trek here toward year end because it brings back old memories when I was a kid and went with my parents but during my most recent visit in 2023, I noticed all the restaurants around the rink especially the iconic Rock Center Cafe was gone. There is nothing around the rink now and just glass for tourists to look through which there were before but now it’s almost 270 degrees around. Here, is an example of when it was better back then during the good ol days because dining while looking at the rink was magical. This was also done by the main character in the classic novel, The Cather in the Rye. You can no long experience this since all the new restaurants are now away from any windows and really, who wants to eat there anymore? What an awful decision by those in charge and I feel sorry for the new generations who will never be able to experience dining next to the rink. At least, I was able to enjoy it once upon a time.
