We had a great visit to Rockefeller. My daughter has always wanted to skate at the Rockefeller rink, so we ponied up $75 for 2 people with skate rentals. Crazy expensive, but it's a once in a lifetime thing. Good stores and restaurants in the area.

It's a unique place to be on Christmas with friends and family. Christmas without visit NYC Rockefeller Center Venue, will be a incomplete Christmas.

It is an iconic place to visit but the NBC studios are there and live filming is done, you will be swiftly moved on if you get to close, apart from that its a must.

Wonderful views of lower Manhattan at night. But, if you are only doing one high rise, during daylight hours, you might consider One World Trade. There are several outdoor viewing areas at Rockefeller. None at World Trade.

Beautiful urban design from the Art Deco area. A glorious ensemble of buildings and a center plaza for the famous ice skating. Very busy place.

Just to see the skaters and outdoor themed winter garden was refreshing...check out what may be happening during your stay. Nice restaurants on lower level and shopping all around on street level. Across road from St Patrick's Cathedral, another landmark you simply, must NOT miss!

There is just so much to take in here. A great family spot. It was awesome to finally see the skating rink location and the lights in the evening. We saw this both in Day and night. Prefer the night. Take the time to wander into the NBC gift shop. If you're nostalgic for any past shows you'll enjoy what... More

We were able to attend inside the Rockefeller Center for the Christmas tree lighting, it was so festive and beautiful. I loved watching all the entertainment and then the excitement of the tree being lit. We return the following day to watch the skaters, and grab a bite to eat. This place is always so magical.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
