The world-famous Empire State Building offers unobstructed panoramic views...

The world-famous Empire State Building offers unobstructed panoramic views of New York City and beyond from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m. daily. Our 86th and 102nd floor Observation Decks offer the two highest vantage points in New York City. Soaring 1,454 feet above Midtown Manhattan from base to antenna, the Empire State Building is the World's Most Famous Office Building. Named America's favorite building in a poll conducted by the American Institute of Architects, the Empire State Building is one of New York City's top tourist destinations. On a clear day, you can see up to five states from our Observation Decks - New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Guests can enjoy our outdoor viewing area on our open-air 86th floor Observatory, or our indoor climate-controlled viewing areas on the 86th and 102nd floors. We recently launched our new Multimedia Experience as well, which guides visitors through the extraordinary exhibits and breathtaking views with additional depth on the building's history in eight languages - including English, Spanish, French, Italian, Mandarin, Portuguese, Japanese and Korean. The Empire State Building aims to provide entertainment for guests of all ages. Bringing children? Have their picture taken with King Kong himself on our 80th floor from Thursdays through Mondays (12 p.m. until 9 p.m.). Celebrating a first date or an anniversary? Enjoy romantic tunes from our saxophone player from 9 p.m. until midnight every Thursday through Saturday night. Tickets can be purchased through our website. Our celebrated tower lights are often illuminated to commemorate holidays, events and special causes. In the Fall of 2012, we upgraded our tower lighting system from floodlights to one-of-a-kind LED tower lights. The state-of-the-art system allows customized lighting capabilities from a palette of over 16 million colors! To watch some of our recent light shows, visit our YouTube page. Reigning as the world's tallest building from 1931 to 1970, the Empire State Building is known for its distinct Art Deco style. Construction of the renowned icon only took one year and 45 days, and logged more than 7 million man hours. This is the fastest construction to date for a project of its scale. Additionally, from classics like An Affair to Remember and Sleepless in Seattle to recent hits such as Oblivion and Elf, our place in pop culture has been solidified since our early days. In fact, over 200 movies and TV shows have featured the Empire State Building in them!

My daughter and I took the tour last year as it was on our bucket list. This was so amazing. It is my favorite part of NYC. The views were amazing and breath taking. I am afraid of heights but I highly recommend this attraction. The elevator ride was quick and smooth. We staying on the observation deck and took... More

Everyone must do this when in NYC. No "need" to pay for the smaller observation deck, as the views are equally as great on both. The main platform has more space, and as such makes it a bit easier for photos and walking around. The history of the building is great, the views great, and you will learn more about... More

Bought the combo ticket for the 102nd floor as well as the 86th floor viewing platform. I recommend getting the combo. Lines were easy when I visited, virtually no wait. During heavy season, getting the VIP expedited ticket is a good idea.

If the visibility is good it cannot be disappointing. The view is stunning all the time. Long lines but worth the waiting time

We went to New York in March during the "quiet" period although it was still busy. One of the main attractions is obviously the Empire State building. First of it is a little expensive for what you do, but the views are second to none. There are 2 viewing platforms, one indoors and one outdoors a few floors up. Other... More

It was a lovely experience to walk out onto the terrace and see new York at night. My daughter and I went to the 84 the floor. It is very expensive though so it work b a lot of expense for a family. But as a one off I'd recommend it.

Amazing views. Be sure and pay additional $20 per person to go to the top. Lots of history. Wish we had more time to look at all the construction photos and comments.

We paid 32 dolars do each person to go to 86 floor, but we'd like to go further to the 102rd floor and paid 20 more for each, but to tell the truth it doesn't worth.

Not having been to Empire before I expected just a basic observation deck with awesome views. Instead, it is a multi-aspect event from historical displays to, of course, the amazing views atop midtown Manhattan.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
