This was my 8th visit to New York City - my last was 19 years ago - and the Flatiron has always been a favourite of mine so I was so excited to see it again. During the evening, I actually walked past it as it’s shrouded in scaffolding so was almost unrecognisable! During the day - and on a beautifully sunny, crisp wintry day, I sat on a park bench and admired it (obviously still sadly under scaffolding!) Well worth a visit to admire the iconic structure and as it’s in a great and convenient location.

A very special and iconic building in Manhattan, which never fails to impressed. We stayed nearby on this visit and it was a joy to see the warm stone of this beautiful building everyday. Actually looks better at night at the moment as there is some netting and scaffolding which is less visible at night.

This was one of New York’s landmarks I was quite excited about seeing in real life. I was walking down the street and was actually looking around for it until I double checked my maps and I looked up and half of it was covered in scaffolding and netting! I know it can’t be helped but I was very disappointed. I actually didn’t think it looked as bold and impressive as it does in the movies or on photographs. It seemed more dull in real life. Would love to see it without scaffolding on.
