It was very cold by the water but worth it. Important to see historical sites and understand the meaning to our country.

Minimise the queuing by being early.... It's an effort to get up to the crown but worth it for the views and being inside such an icon.

Take Staten Island ferry to see it. It is free and you will see all you need. On your way to the ferry you will see lot of people that will try to convince you to use the paid ship, but go straight to the ferry.

Make sure that you allocate sufficient time as the queues to get onto the ferry from Battery Park can be very long, and then the security check is also a long wait. Also, book beforehand if you want to go up into the crown.

We booked our visit months in advance so that we could go up to the crown. Be prepared for a very hard climb in tight spaces... it was well worth the effort. The City Pass lines were crazy so I was very glad that we had booked a crown tour because our line was very short. Your City Pass ticket... More

The combined boat trip to Liberty Island and Ellis Island is a great value day excursion and a must see when visiting New York. On our return to New York we did the trip a second time and had pre booked tickets to the Statue Pedestal and Crown. The views are great, but the climb to the crown in particular... More

I was a bit skeptic about going on the island and seeing the statue up close but it was way better up close than having a view from the boat.

I have always wanted to go to the Statue and it did not disappoint. We didn't even go in but just pulling up to it on the Ferry was amazing. Thinking of all the people that have come to this country with this being their first view.
