Majestic! Rated 4 versus 5 only because of the relative lack of amenities and access to the statue. Access is very limited even to the pedestal, more so to Miss Liberty. Understand the terrorism concerns, but seems a bit overdone. All that said, amazing place.

Buy your tickets online before going to NYC. We passed by the lines and went right on to the ferry. We bought the cruise ticket that also took us to Ellis Island. We only went to the pedestal, but that was perfect. Great views of...More

Just so you know, you have to book tickets at least three weeks in advance to go up inside the Statue of Liberty. Allow lots of time for security line-ups to get on the boat to take you to Liberty Island.

The statue itself is just Amazing Truly amazing And the view over the Skyline is breathtaking Getting there, on the other hand, felt like cattle beeing handled by a angry mean farmer on a bad day! Staff yelling at people to get on the boat...More

It so wonderful to see it in person. We used the audio tour. It could use a bit more instruction but once you got the hang of it, you could keep up. They could do better with signage for the path of the audio tour...More

Yes. You can have food in a park. We never went inside the column. We always bring food with us as we have small kids who have allergies and need snacks.
