Majestic! Rated 4 versus 5 only because of the relative lack of amenities and access to the statue. Access is very limited even to the pedestal, more so to Miss Liberty. Understand the terrorism concerns, but seems a bit overdone. All that said, amazing place.

Just so you know, you have to book tickets at least three weeks in advance to go up inside the Statue of Liberty. Allow lots of time for security line-ups to get on the boat to take you to Liberty Island.

Yes. You can have food in a park. We never went inside the column. We always bring food with us as we have small kids who have allergies and need snacks.

They ran in one direction when we were there. It was SOL and then Ellis Island.
