By far my favourite site in New York City, she is stunning and we went out on a beautiful day. Booked our ticket through statue cruises and payed extra to go up to the pedestal. It's beautiful from there also great views if the city

I loved the ferry ride and the photo ops are amazing. Good to go in the morning or buy in advance. I loved the ice cream served and crown cafe smelt delicious.

Managed to get a ticket for the pedestal, but book well in advance to get a crown ticket, clear day with great views of the city, and the statue.

We bought tickets in advance online, and recommend that, especially if you would like to enter the pedestal area of the statue or to go to the top observation area, as these tickets sell out in advance. The statue itself and the entire setting is...More

We thoroughly enjoyed this must visit attraction. We got there relatively early but the queues were still huge. Once on the boat the ride was smooth and the views fantastic, both of the statue itself and back towards the New York skyline. The museum was...More

Take the boat to see this wonderful gift from France. A truly splendid welcome to America. Helps you to remember where America came from and where it needs to be as our place in the world.

We only saw this epic piece of American history from a water taxi but it was close enough to get your pictures. It is obviously possible to land & visit properly but we ran out of time. It looks fabulous in the bay and if...More

Booked the Liberty Island/ Ellis Island self guided cruise trip. Lady Liberty is breath taking and a must see if your into national landmarks. I recommend the first boat of the day to avoid large crowds.

We visited my brother and my sister in law in Pennsylvania and made sure we had this trip on our itinerary. It was awesome to be be able to visit the Statue of Liberty and learn some history. The kids had lots of fun.

We went on a foggy, grey morning but the statue lit up the sky once in the island. The views back to Manhattan are amazing as well, as long as the fog lifts and you can see the tops on the giants.

I'm booking the Statue of Liberty and there are limited tickets for the pedestal leaving from NY but plenty tickets and times available departing from NJ. What is the reason? Is there a disadvantage to departing from NJ? We are planning to do this before we leave NY and will have our car after checking our from our hotel. Is traveling to NJ a bad idea? It doesn't seem far.

I'm not 100% sure but think maybe NJ would add a lot of travel time and the traffic can be really bad. Other than that I think you will enjoy it.

Hi! Purchased tickets to the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island for 10am, Wednesday, June 28th. 1. How much time do I need to put aside ONLY for viewing the Statue of Liberty (Pedestal Access)? 2. How much time do I need to put aside for the Ellis Island Immigration Museum? 3. Any tips? (Never been to NYC or Statue of Liberty before) Thank you! -Inge C.

Hi we spent about 2 and a half hour at the Statue of Liberty, then a 10 minute ferry crossing to Ellis Island where we spent about 3 hours and had lunch whilst there, it's worthwhile doing the audio tour. Hope that helps.

Visiting both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island in early October. Already pre-purchased the 9am/first ferry ride over to the Statue, etc... also pre-purchased crown access tickets. Considering the Statue of Liberty pedestal, crown access, and other things to see + heading over to Ellis Island for that whole experience - how much time do you think we'll spend for the 2 activities combined - I'm trying to see how long all of it's going to take - if we take our time, and look at everything at a not too-rushed pace. Any tips on length of time for both, would be much appreciated.

Hi The statue itself can be done fairly quickly there is a cafe on the way between the ferry and statue if you wanted a coffee or snack the walk to the pedestal you go straight up but as the space is limited in the crown... More
