Go on line and see if an event is scheduled when you are at the Outer Banks. They have a great Blue Grass Festival in early October as well as music through out the year.

My wife and I stopped between the rain sshowers yesterday to explore the Elizabeth II, native American village, museum and gift shop. The ship had a crew of two helping the young and old learn about the various aspects of the vessel. They shot the...More

We had a nice morning exploring the displays. The ship is awesome. There a costumed crew members to add some flavor and answer questions while on board the Elizabeth II. This is not a boat ride. The ship is tied to the dock. We also...More

Festival park is a nicely done attraction with many interesting areas and some great hands on fun. Very little of what you will see is very authentic, the ship was not constructed using authentic methods, there is a lot of imitation wood and simulated materials...More

We arrived here at the end of the day and were pretty much told that we'd need to rush our way through. So although we were able to see the Elizabeth II...that was about it. I think it would be a nice attraction, if you...More

Not much too see for the price to pay. Fully functional colonial ship was fun and the museum was a great airconditioned relief from the heat. Other areas were not well maintained. The acting the employees in costume portrayed, although very knowledgeable of historic time...More

Actually, I'm tired of museums, but the one at Festival Park was much more nicely done than we expected. But first, we tried to see the Outer Banks History Center, thinking it was visitor friendly. Turns out that it is an historic document repository and...More

One ticket price gets you into everything the park has to offer - the movie, museum, ship, and various living history settlements. We really enjoyed the museum, which is newly remodeled and highly interactive for kids. It covers not just Roanoke but commercial fishing and...More

We stopped here to see more about Roanoke Island and the ship that is docked here. Even though there are lots of learning areas set up for families and field trips, adults will find much of interest.

This was a very interesting and educational venue. They have a great museum, book store, and outdoor exhibit area detailing life in the latter part of the 1600's. The ship is a working replica and very interesting.

Oh yes! Lots of things to look at there. And there are places to sit along the way if you get tired. There are also a lot of exhibits which are interactive. Enjoy your day!

We would love to do this but the time we want to go calls for 40-50% chance of rain. How much could we see if it was raining?

Almost everything is outside. It is fairly small, so you can probably still do everything.
