We came here late one morning with our elementary school son. The staff was nice in recommending a walk for us and pointing out the rare blue lobster in the aquarium. I also appreciated the explanation for the blue wooden boxes in the marshes (mosquito control). We walked the Goose Pond Trail, which was low on bird sightings but great... More

Driven by this place many a time without stopping as it is easy to miss. This is a great place to explore the tidal marshes and much of it is shaded which was a blessing in the current heat wave on the Cape. With a bay breeze, we could easily manage out picnic lunch on a bench in the shade.... More

A great way to spend a few hours if it's cool, rainy, or if you just need a break from the beach. Nice hike through the salt marsh if the tide is high, and then head out to the boardwalk if the tide is out. Tons of birds, interesting crab life to watch, fun tidal pools for the kids -... More

You can follow a board walk path to hike into Salt Marsh areas. Great views of marsh views and birds, and wildlife. Wear bug screen and you will be fine.

We enjoyed a nice morning walking around, searching for turtles and fiddler crabs. My kids are young, so they tire quickly, but we were glad we stopped there.

Perfect place to spend a few hours hiking and bird watching. Bring your binoculars. Join the Audubon Society and support their conservation efforts. Great summer day camp for kids.

We signed our kids up for the fish painting activity. (Don't worry, they don't use real fish. Anymore...) It was fine, but not too exciting. Our kids (9-12) were kind of beyond it. The museum is small but very educational. A lot of the beauty of this place is outdoors on the trails, and sadly we didn't get to take... More

The Mass Audubon society manages the terrific Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary on the hillsides and shoreline overlooking Wellfleet Harbor. To quote "Extensive trails bring you to a panoramic salt marsh, sandy barrier beach, and pine woodlands, each attracting a wide array of wildlife. The sanctuary features a universally accessible trail and an award-winning “green” nature center with numerous exhibits and... More

We had a wonderful time walking the trails here, enjoying the scenery and bird watching. The Nature Center is quite spacious and well-maintained. The desk volunteers are helpful with trail suggestions. There were a number of other visitors, many seemingly from the Day Camp for kids that they run. Some of the trails get flooded at high tide, so make... More
