Well, I have to say we had a wonderful experience with our tour guide Lucy, who was amazingly energetic and so knowledgeable about the Pritchard House. We learned so much history about the house and the family, all so interesting! The house was kept to the time period, with so many vintage artifacts to see and talk about. Our guide treated us to some tasty cookies and superb lemonade at the end. Finally, I have to say, after touring the Kennedy Space Center, we actually enjoyed this so much more. Highly recommend.

Excellent Tour , very detailed explanation of details on living in 19th century Florida , if you are in central Florida is a must do experience . Many thanks to our tour guide Sandy, very knowledgeable on all the details of the house from restoration , furniture, dinnerware, etc. Look for the especial date events they have all around the year.

My husband and I just moved to Titusville and wanted to learn more about the history of the area. The Pritchard House stands out at the edge of the historic downtown, with its ornate "gingerbread" decorations and wide porches. Tours are given by appointment and when I called, Sandy offered to do a tour for us on President's Day. She couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating despite our small party. She was a wonderful tour guide, sharing many interesting details about the family, the house, and life at the turn of the last century. We love history and have been to many historic houses over the years but we still learned a lot on this tour. Highly recommend.

Booked a 1pm appointment for December 12th and the woman calls me to say she got there early and I could come now if I wanted. I told her ok and I did. Upon arrival, approximately 10 minutes later, she isn't even there! The office is locked,
I called it twice. Not in the house, which was also locked, tried both doors. Went back to the welcome center building and banged on the window, nowhere on the property. So I left, stupid inconsiderate woman. Don't waste my time like that.

Excellent 1891 historic house. Tour was informative and not rushed. Fantastic restoration and some insight as to what the house looked like when the historical society took possession. We did the formal tea and tour. All volunteers. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys learning about a piece of Florida’s history.

Wonderful house. Our guide, Sandy, was great. She told us so much about the house, the Pritchard family and the time period. She even contacted us a few days later to answer a question we had while on the tour. Highly recommend it.

Call the number and request a tour! The docents are terrific. This house is a Titusville landmark right on U.S. Highway 1 in Titusville. It has been restored as close as possible to its original look. You can get a feel for what life was like in Florida in the 1800s. The docents have plenty of information about the original family whose descendants still live in the area. It is worth a visit.

My husband, mother, and I took a volunteer guide-led tour with Sandy, who was excellent. The house has been open to the public since 2011, after the last Pritchard family descendent moved out in 2005 and the house was bought by the county and restored. It is now a 501 charity and needs your support! The house was built in 1891 and most of the exterior and interior features are original. It survived the space boom of the 1950s and 1960s when many similar homes in the area were demolished in place of new build homes. Few family artifacts remain in the house, which is fully furnished to the period 1891-1926.
The tour focused on the social history of the artifacts in the house - the working Victrola, a mustache cup, Depression glass, etc. It also highlights the original features of the house. General information is provided about the Pritchard family, though I hope more research is done about the family and Titusville at the time to provide even more local flavor.
The house is run by volunteers and as a result is open by appointment only. But don’t let that intimidate you! I called on a Tuesday and left a voicemail. Sandy called me back within the hour and my small group was able to join a pre-arranged 10:30 am tour the next morning. Max tour group number is 8. The cost is $10 per person in cash - all donations to the house.
The house is completely air conditioned and has a bathroom for guest use on the ground floor. Many of the rooms are on the second floor, reached by a full flight of stairs. However, the parlor, entrance hall, dining room, and kitchen are all on the ground floor.
Parking is available in front and in the adjacent public parking lot - all parking is free. A handful of local restaurants and shops are in walking distance.
There are also monthly teas between September and May and they sometimes incorporate themes (e.g., Downton Abbey).

In my opinion, Pritchard House appears closed but all you need to do is call. They are very accommodating. Lucy was an excellent docent. The history she eluded to was fantastically told. The foundation that runs the home is very hard working and all volunteers. The home is impeccably kept. It is air conditioned but there is one set of steps. We were served lemonade and cookies in the dining room. We have visited many historical homes and have never received treats. We had a private tour for a donation of $5 each. The town is closed on Mondays but the house is very rarely closed but you must make a reservation. We asked for a lunch suggestion locally. She suggested a few open in walking distances. Also, she suggested some north and south of the city.
