About
We are a museum dedicated to the space workers of the Canaveral Spaceport who built the rockets and launch pads that allowed the US to reach the Moon, and send probes to the outer planets. Most of the artifacts in the museum were donated to us by those now retired space workers to tell the stories of what life was really like working there during those times. We work to keep things exciting and personal with the opportunity to talk with people who worked there and to see what is new and coming in the American Space Program.

- Jörg T15 contributionsWithout a doubt a secret gem.It was a very pleasant experience for me to have "discovered" this wonderful museum. Without a doubt a secret gem. Special thanks to the kind volunteer at the entrance and to Anita and Gordon for their guidance. During our brief contact, their commitment, knowledge and passion were evident.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 6 January 2024
- Laura S15 contributionsGreat little museum!Great rainy day option! Eric gave us a personal tour and shared his 30 years experiences of working at Kennedy. It houses an interesting collection of NASA history. We also ran into an astronaut, Sian Proctor, while there. Which was cool!Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 21 January 2024

- donnie-travels5 contributionsAmazing space program historyAmazing little museum. May not look like much from the outside, but it houses some amazing artifacts from the u.s. space programs from its earliest days up to today. Staff was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. Visited on a slow morning, had a guided tour. Learned so much, both from the exhibits and the staff. Highly recommended.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 August 2024

Sadly, we did not have enough time to appreciate all of this museum. As I supported the space shuttle for seven years I was very anxious to see what was in this museum. The volunteer who guided us was knowledgable and very nice. Retired astronauts and Kennedy and Canaveral staff are frequent visitors. There are abundant children's programs. The exhibits are well displayed. Just a great place!

You might be tempted to skip this if you have gone to the Kennedy Space Center and after you see the unassuming building that houses this museum. That would be a mistake. This is a great supplement to what you see/learn at Kennedy. The exhibits are not flashy and high tech, but the docent tour that we had was exceptional. Our guide was Travis Thompson and he had years of experience working at the space center. He was the one who closed and locked the door to the space shuttle so he had a wealth of first-hand knowledge about the astronauts and the missions. The stories he shared were fascinating. It is an experience you can't have anyplace else. Don't miss it.

Our family LOVES the American Space Museum. It is not only a cool place to see rare space artifacts but also a great learning experience. It is fun for all ages. Our recent tour host was Travis. He had worked in the White Room during the shuttle program and had met many astronauts. His stories were amazing and I could have listened to him every day.
This museum is affordable for the whole family.
On this trip, I brought my 11 year old daughter and she loved seeing the Women's Gallery. It is very inspiring to show a young girl what is possible with hard work. She also loves the control room where they simulate a launch. That is always the highlight of our tour.
To the entire staff of the American Space Museum. Thank you for all you do. I can't recommend this museum enough.

We were really glad we opted for the guided tour! Steve hit the "high points" and then we had time to explore whatever we liked in more detail. Steve did a wonderful job putting historical events into perspective. My husband especially enjoyed the demonstration of the sequencer during the simulated launch.

I worked at the Space Center for Rockwell and Lockheed during the shuttle Program - first as an electroncs technician then as an Instrumentation Engineer in the Haz-Warning group. Visiting this place brings back a lot of memories for me. i highly recommend visiting this place when you are in Titusville or the surrounding area - worth the visit!!

Completely disappointed. Drove out of our way to stop at this "gem" as others say. Arrived at 2:15 pm on January 2nd. We were one of 4 vehicles that arrived around the same time only to find the door dead-bolt locked, the sign by the door said open 10 to 5. The website said it was open. We double checked the website and called the phone number and everything indicated it was open that day from 10 to 5. No sign in the door saying closed. We all walked around the building to see if there were other doors, knocked on the doors. There were no cars in the employee parking lot. Has this place permanently closed?

Saw some good reviews for this museum & then talked with a family coming out of the museum & they were impressed. They said make sure to get the guide for your tour & don’t just walk through yourself. That was correct recommendation because the guide has a true love for space & loves telling others about his knowledge about it & it shows in his enthusiasm for being a tour guide. We have a middle school daughter & it was interesting for her but very much for us parents.
If you only have a short period of time for a small museum, this is the one. It took us about 1.5 hours because we asked questions too besides the guided tour.

Great little museum with a good variety of space-related exhibits & artifacts. The best part was the time we spent with docent Gary. He worked on Apollo and the Shuttle and had an incredible depth of information and interesting stories about his time with those programs. I highly recommend you ask for a docent like Gary to guide you.
Thanks for a memorable visit, Gary!!

Small scale nasa type space museum. Very friendly staff and extremely educational place for children or adults that find cape canavarial too overwhelming. Quite and really tiny place that can be discovered in about an hour. Perfect place for kids under 6 and sensory friendly. Thanks to all of the Knowledgeable women whom have great passion for the center and take pride in their jobs! My son loved the lift off and controls center.

We needed to kill some time on our drive from Fort Lauderdale to Jacksonville and saw this museum listing. Wow, what a surprise! When we walked in we were greeted nicely and asked if we wanted a guided tour... we said yes and then spent the next two hours getting a full tour of the facility from one of the volunteers. 50 minutes into the tour was the launch of SpaceX and we went out to the parking lot to view it where I got some great pictures using my 600mm lens. The museum covers the complete history of rocket science with various artifacts from NASA and is well organized. Has a special room devoted to Women in Space. Overall a great experience!
