I spent over $200 for three tickets in the balcony level for the Amos Lee concert late last year and was totally ripped off. It was our first time seeing him perform live and the first time attending any kind of a performance at this venue. The architecture was great, however, the sound in the balcony level was horrible! As... More

Went to see 9 to 5 at the historic Spreckels Theater. It was a Girls Night Out adventure that included drinks at the elegant Westgate Hotel across the street from the theater. The play has us laughing all night long. The dancing, the singing- everything was flawless! I was amazed to hear that it was opening night. These professionals had... More

We came down from LA to see a favorite performer. The Spreckels is in the Gaslamp area and close to hotels. It was easy to find, but there was some confusion about our seat which was uncomfortable. The lower balcony offers a good view but the angle and height was a challenge for my husband who is afraid of heights.... More

Decided to go literally about 30 minutes b4 curtain and got great seats in center row D. Saw a wonderful production of "The Producers" performed by the (presumably) amateur San Diego Musical Theatre. Amazingly good. I much preferred this SDMT show to the more expensive and professional performances of "Cabaret" and "In The Heights" I recently saw. The theatre looks... More

My wife went to the Loreena McKennitt concert at Spreckels. This was our first visit to this venue. As noted in earlier reviews the theater is much nicer than the appearance on the outside. It is evident from the interior that the theater was built in 1912 and certainly has been maintained in the elegance of that era. We had... More

I've been to the theater several times to watch City Ballet of San Diego perform and each time I sit inside I am captivated by the architecture and elegant beauty of it. I feel like I'm taken away to a forgotten era of artistry and grandeur. The ballet company did a splendid job and watching them perform in this incredible... More

The seats, while new, or refurbished are so tight they actually caused my theatre partners leg to cramp so badly they could not move from their seat. The theatre is nice and the staff is pleasant. A good place to see a show, but be prepared to lose limbs if you cannot stretch out into a aisle. I am not... More

There is really not a bad seat in this theater. Even those in the back row can see the stage well enough and they are that much closer to the restrooms! Seriously, the lines during intermission get crazy!

Enjoyed the production. Theater is old historic and of a moderate size, so seats were all good. Sound was great and it was a spirited performance
