Great place to start the park

This is a Visitor Center where the people were extremely helpful and friendly and provided maps and advice for visiting Balboa Park. There are rest rooms and a good starting point for visiting the park.

This would have been a great place to start however we came from the zoo - so it ended up being the last place. I'd definitely recommend starting here since the park is so big and it can really help narrow down what you want to see.

There is far too much to see and do for a quick day visit to Coronado. Stopping by here first-thing in the morning provided a literal walking map, quick discussion of a plan of attack, and even a list of what's happening that particular day/weekend. The ladies in there really know their stuff, are very friendly, but also get you... More

The best way to start your time in Balboa Park is with a stop at the Balboa Park Visitors Center located across from the Prado Restaurant in the Hose of Hospitality. The center offers brochures, maps, audio tours, free guided tour of the Park, transportation information, dining advice and more.

last weekend we went down to Balboa Park for the first time. This property has over 16 museums on 1200 acres and there was no way that we could possibly see it one day. We went into the visitor center and they suggested that we purchase an annual explore pass for the family. The total cost is $199 per family... More

We had been in Balboa Park five years ago and when we came back we needed to orientate anew. The House of Hospitality is the wonderful visitors' center for Balboa Park. The Center is adjacent to the Prado Restaurant and a stone's throw from San Diego Museum of Art and many other worthwhile attractions! Address and phone: 1549 El Prado,... More
