Beautiful stop. Historical site with lots of good information. Wish we had gotten there for the tide pool talk. Easy walking.

As part of the Point Loma complex, it's a great little museum of what life was like for the lighthouse keepers in the 1800's.

Great stop! It was a bit of a drive to get to.
It would be better if one were allowed to actually go in the top of the light house and take pictures from that panoramic view.
The history of this place is amazing.
The duties of the keeper are long and involved.
#1 priority is keeping the light on.
The visitors center gave us a pass to drive to the actual light house as it is a bit of a up hill walk.
Also the stairs up inside of the light house are steep, narrow and winding. It may be difficult for an elderly or handicapped person to make.

Quaint little lighthouse. Shows what it was like when a family lived there. Nice walk to the lighthouse from the monument.

The walk to the light house, &c is enjoyable if for no other reason than to enjoy the scenery. The light house is a beautiful structure. Unfortunately you cannot go into the tower but the keeper's quarters are on view and the assistant keeper's house has a museum about the Fresnel lenses, the life of a light house keeper, the region, &c.
Wander and enjoy

I loved learning about lighthouses and lighthouse keepers. Fascinating look back in time. Their responsibilities involved much more than I had known.

Thought it was neat we could go inside and enjoy a simple museum. Nice picnic in the area. Cool WW2 batteries. Sweet photo opportunities.

Lighthouse was three levels and contained two floors of enclosed rooms and period furnishings. Stairs were narrow especially the final one (more like a ladder) to get a peek at the light itself. Luckily we came at the right time so not much of a wait but when we came down there was a line down the staircase to the first floor.

Next door to the lighthouse was a small museum that covered the history, lens/light types, original light and lives of the keepers.

Outside there was a path around the top of the hill that contained a couple of viewing areas of the ocean and details about the remaining kelp gardens down beeline. Very nice views and not windy.
