We stopped by while wandering around San Diego. We had our 4-year old granddaughter with us. The views were great, but it's on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Not a place where I would let a child wander.

The views are great and you can do some decent exploring along the cliffs and a few small beach areas. Unlike La Jolla and Mission beach you can usually find some places to park and get out for some pictures.

Amazing view! Beautiful and free. We stop and visit each time we come to San Diego. Can be crowded at times but plenty of space for everyone.

My daughter and I sat and watched the sunset one evening.....absolutely amazing. Parking is a bit hard to find if you wait too close to sunset

The name says it all at this popular San Diego site. Best sunset in town by far. Red cliffs, crashing waves on rocks, ocean breeze...It's pure California scenery and just doesn't get any better than this.

Just an incredibly beautiful place to visit. Really a must to see !!! Dramatic views, rocks, cliffs and crashing waves 🐬🐬🐬 So relaxing and easy to see views from almost anywhere. There are even steps leading down to the beach area. People exercising, dogs, children, families, couples just a great place for everyone. We drove from San Clemente and it... More

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park doesn't have a typical park entrance, and it has multiple small parking lots alone the west coast cliffs edge -- you can park any space you can grab in about stretch 1 mile long coast. It is surely a best place to watch sunset!

Stopped at a few points along the way and made our way over to the park. It's not a park; it's a parking lot with some trails to the cliffs. Once you get out there WOW! There were surfers waaaaay down at the bottom that we watched while waiting for the sun set. the best pictures from our vacation were... More

Being a native San Diegan, but not living there currently, I'm always drawn back to the Cliffs every time I return to my hometown. Whether it's just to relax and watch the waves crashing onto the cliffs below, exercising along the trails, watching the sunset, or just taking in all the splendor Sunset Cliffs offers, you will not be disappointed... There are quite a few places along Sunset Cliffs Blvd where you can park your car and capture the amazing views of a sunset off the coast. Spend a week in San Diego and came to the cliffs to watch three sunsets.
