About
Running parallel to Mission Beach, this 2.3-mile boardwalk is a young and bustling area, lined with cool shops, bars, and restaurants. You can do the scenic oceanfront walk towards Pacific Beach, as cyclists and skaters whizz past you. It's also where you can find the historic Belmont Park, where you can ride both old-school and modern amusement rides, climb a rock wall, play laser tag, and more. Parking can be tricky; travelers recommend taking public transport here. Otherwise, a bike tour is a great option to cover the area's best highlights, which includes both the boardwalk and Mission Bay Park. – Tripadvisor

Lovely beach and views.

Free parking in the large lots along Mission Blvd near Belmont Park...gets pretty busy though. We went on a Saturday morning around 11am and we ended up getting one of the last few spots on the far end of the second parking lot...10-minute walk to the main Boardwalk area.

Boardwalk has a few shops in a specific area...but otherwise lots of beach and nice views.

We rented a house right on the boardwalk. It gets busy on the weekends but it is a lot of fun. There are residential areas and then commercial areas. Easy to find restaurants and shops.

I think the boardwalk experience would be a lot better with better weather. We did not luck out on our timing coming here, it has been cold, rainy, windy, with thunderstorms for most of our trip, and so the boardwalk has been flooded a lot and hard to walk on. I think it would be much lovlier with nicer weather, we would be able to enjoy it more then.

Great beach area with a lot to see. The boardwalk has several small vendors, lots to eat and drink, and quick access to miles of great beaches. There were a lot of people out and about but we never felt crowded.

January Travelers: Much was closed when we visited, so it's beautiful of course, but rides are closed nearby at Belmont and things are a bit more closed down. Plan to spend just an hour or so, it's not a full morning or afternoon activity.

I enjoyed the shops, the vendors, and the food options. We came here for our first opportunity to dip our toes into the pacific ocean. It was colder than I expected but still I have not dipped my toes into both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The vendors along the boardwalk had a variety of goods, the shops have a lot of shirts and things that are geared to tourists. Our son found his favorite sweatshirt while going into shops.

Overall it was a good stop if you are looking for a beach, shops, and something to eat.

The beach is always a fun experience! So many fun activities to do. The boardwalk was great for taking a stroll down the beach and watch people, Seeing families and rollerblading or biking. Nice to have the paved path!
